Powell County 80 Estill County 78
Even As great of atmosphere as the fieldhouse creates, Estill fans will NEVER miss going to Mason Co. Why would anyone want to travel that far to play the home team EVERY year who is the regional favorite almost every year. The 56th district is as much fun as basketball can be. Thank you 14th region

Lee Co coach resigning?
I have heard several times today that Danny Wright at Lee Co has resigned. Has anyone heard this to be true? If so, why?

Powell County 80 Estill County 78
I thought Powell shot extremely well in this game. Most people don't realize Estill plays mostly undercalssmen including soph Tristan Cacklin who through in 25 tonight and BLake Christopher who threw in 23 . Tonight, Berryman was the only senior that played for estill and he fouled out. Looks like Estill may be team to beat in coming years in the 56th. Congratualations to Cody Berryman on an outstanding career.

Owsley 41 Lee 39
Good summary; hardly an impressive resume' for the the bobcats over the last 4 years. I really thought thewy would have greater success. Does anyone know what happened to them this year? Was it internal strife? They seemed lifeless to me.

Owsley 41 Lee 39
What happened to Lee this year? I thought they had poor season given their expectations. When I saw them play they seemed lifeless and disinterested. Anyone know what the problem was? On the flip side, Owsley pulls the upset. I don't know how they do it but for a school of 250.... or so they seem to do something almost every year.

Lee 64 Wolfe Co 34
I understand the sentiment of coach Creech. Estill has certianly enjoyed playing in the 56th. The teams are so close and there seems to be so much entusiasm. The separation between the first and worst team is never very large. The communities really seem to get behind their schools. As good of rivalry as Clark and Montgomery have, Estill's former district, the 40th, certainly does not have the same "flair" when it comes to communites generating excitement. Maybe its because estill was so much of an underdog everytime they played.

14th Region split session
If you choose to let Jenkins be the extreme, then why do you not include Estill on the other end. It is 62 miles from Irvine to Jackson and approx 65 miles from Jackson to Whitesburg. I have heard for years how Hazard is the center of the 14th region. I understand that Perry County is where the most regional titles have come from but that does not constitute geographical centrality. Bottom line; the 56th district has never had the influence necessary to make it fair. I could not believe Powell managed to get in the 6 year rotation. I wonder if estill's presence will change that attitude toward the 56th any.

14th Region split session
Has anyone looked at the map here? Hazard and especially Hindman, is not anywhere near the center of the region. If central locality is the overriding issue, let Breathitt host it every year.

14th Region split session
If LC truly only holds 2500, then why not allow other schools to host and always do split session. Estill will hold that many.

Elliott Co. Basketball Team
I've only seen them one time, but they did not look that mediorce to me. All five players appear to be guards that can do several different things including shoot. Defense did not appear to be a priority but they were very aggressive. Apparently they have played together since the 4th grade.

Neeley post I promised
Nothing against Owen Co, but I hate to see Owsley Co lose a player of that caliber especially given he had grown up there. For the size of school, Owsley has always put a god team on the floor year in year out. This year WITH Neeley, they would again challenged for the 56th.

Here we go again - 44th District draw.
One issue I have not seen mentioned is the fact that the law of averages will eventually catch up. It is ver concievable that MC and MS will not play agin for 10 more years. What will people say then?

Powell Co. 85 Estill Co. 70
Many people from estill county are concerned about being able to get in the gym for a Powell Estill game at Owlsey Co. Can't see how in the world that gym will hold them.
-
Powell Co. 85 Estill Co. 70
The only way Powell plays the Owls is if Estill beats Lee. Otherwise, Lee is the number 1 seed and thus Powell will play Estill again.

Lynn Camp 58 Jackson Co. 55
anybody know what's up with Jackson Co? They were preseason top 5 in the 13th, right?

Estill defeats Lee locks up # 1 seed
Estill defeated Lee last night to secure the # 1 seed in the 56th district tournament which essetnially means a rematch. Estill Led 27-4 in first qurter before substituting. It was 41-14 at the half with the starters palying little more than a quater.

14th Region Champs
Thanks for the info. I knew they were young last year and possible had a tougher schedule but 4 and 23? Wow. And now having beaten Hazard and several other decent teams. It seems like such a large turnaround. There had to be some sort of changes rather than players just getting older and more mature.

Bush League
was a technical called or what? How did hey figure it out?

14th Region Champs
will someone explain to me how Breathitt can go 4-23 last year and be in a position to win the region the next? I have not seem them play but I can not figure that out
