Monday, the 56th district had their meeting to schedule the dates and times for this years tournament, hosted by Owsley County. (The 56th district seeds). The Boys play Monday, Wednesday and the championship is Friday night. Each game begins at 7:00pm. On Monday night (2/26/07), #1 seed Lee County takes on #4 seed Owsley County. On Wednesday night (2/28/07), #2 seed Powell County takes on #3 Seed Estill County. Good luck to all the teams in the 56th district. :ylsuper:

Should be Lee and Powell Co for the championship. I will go with Powell Co to win.

To all those attending the 56th district tournament at Owsley County: It is our turn in the rotation to host the tournament, and we're not missing our turn. However....

Get there early if you want a good parking spot and a seat.

Owsley County's gym seats around 1,000...maybe 1,100 with standing room only! Don't expect to arrive at the venue 20 minutes before tip-off and get a good parking space. If you arrive late you will have to park at the Owsley County Elementary School. However, school buses will be used to shuttle fans to the gym, if you choose not to make the 5 minute walk across Route 28 and up the hill to the gym.

 

Owsley County is not the biggest facility in the district, but we've always tried to make up for that shortcoming by trying to make everyone's visit as enjoyable as possible.:thumb:

And...I'll match our concession stand and hospitality room with anyone's in the region. There's a lot of volunteers who make everything run as smooth as possible.

This schedule has changed. Please note. Estill girls vs Lee girls on Monday. Boys Lee vs Owls Tue, Girls powell vs owls wed, boys powell and estill on thursday.

You're right!!! The way I posted it first, was what was voted on at the meeting, but they found out at the 14th region policy board meeting that they had to be changed. So the 56th District Boys teams play Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Sorry about the confusion and thanks Einstein for catching my mistake. :thumb:
