10th Region "A" - Next Year

Featured Replies

Before we completely close the book on the 2007 10th Region All "A" Classic discussion, I am curious to see how folks think the 10th Region "A" will shape up one year from now in January of 2008.

Brossart loses 8 seniors, have two returning Juniors and will rely heavily on our present sophomores and freshmen to continue the tradition.

Silver Grove seems to lose a lot, Bracken County loses a lot.

Can Chris Owens carry St. Patrick and what about the young Calvary Christian Cougars who can only get better under Coach Vandermeer???

when was the last time a team other than Brossart or Paris won it?

1998 Bracken, 1999 & 2000 St. Patrick - but since then Paris won in 2002, all the others went to Brossart.

The girls side is the same way- Paris or Brossart since 1997.Greyhounds have ran off 4 straight.

Next year may be an opportunity for someone to break that run?? BB losing eight seniors, SG losing Pelle, Wiseman and a couple others, Bracken loses Hall, Smith, Hamilton and Cooper--Not sure about the others, except Calvary returns most everyone, and I thought St. Pat's & Augusta had some returning starters?? Maybe someone else from those schools can enlighten us??

St. Pat returns two starter next year with chris owens and nick anderson two great athletes and players but for them to win the all a next year the will need some underclassmen to step up. They will be alright no matter

Augusta will lose Josh White (G), Jeremy Hardymon (F/G), Matt Groves (F) all who have started every game this year. They will also lose Steven Cummins (G) who has started alot latey but not all year.

Will return Juniors

Dustin Staggs © They list him as a center by also can play forward. Will be the Senior leader of the team.

Brayde Hamilton (F), who has lately been playing some good ball after a rocky start this Year.

Word is that we will be getting back a Guard that recently left the team. I hope so we will need him.

Joey Crouch (G), fast reminds me of Steven Cummins, has not played much Varsity.

Sophmore Class,

Chris Mofford, 6'6 Center, Good shot blocker / rebounder leads JV team in rebounds and blocked shots, second in scoring, . Has played alot of Varsity and leads them in shots blocked also.Has been improving well on the offensive end also on Varsity.

Shawn White (G), will be called in to fill big bro shoes. He can do it. Just needs to work a little on his shot. Has been getting more PT as of late and is also improving

Ty Krebs (F) Good shooter, leads Jv team in scoring, and FG% 53%,3rd in rebounds. Needs to shore up his defense. Lacked confidence early on but has been more aggressive as of late on both sides. Has played limited varsity ball.

Jo Jo Gray (F) Second in rebounds on JV team. Decent shot but needs to commit to playing summer ball.

Ryan Kelsch(G), good 3 pt shot, coming off a injury filled freshmen year is improving well.

Have a couple of Freshmen in Michael Saunders who has played limited JV time but shows alot of potential, and Hunter Kiscadden (spelling?) has not played due to injury. But was a aggressive player as an 8th grader

Brossart will come back to the field somewhat next year with the loss of so many seniors, but they're still the king of 10th Region small schools until someone knocks them off.

What about Deming with the King twins? They do lose Massey and Graves, but their JV looked good in the games I saw. I would list St.Patrick as the early favorite folowed by Brossart. Augusta has underacheived this season and should be in the top 2 or 3, but thought that of this season to before the season started.

Yes we will lose Massey and Graves and White. Curtis, Mitchell, Grause, Hendrix, the King Twins return hopefully all will stay together and may surprise a few.

He's quit 2 seasons in a row, the team is better off without him.
