8th region point guards. Hester used to be the best but from what I've seen Neeley is better. If you haven't seen them both you had better go watch Neeley before you drill me on how good Hester is.

I agree, Fun. He is so talented. He can shoot the three with 2-3 defenders in his face. He can dish out the assists. He is dominating on defense. What can't this kid do? I have not seen Hester, but if he is better than Neeley, then the 8th is blessed.

Best player in the 8th Region, hands down! If he doesn't get Player Of The Year because he's a transfer it's a crime.

I agree. In the Owen/Gallatin post, I added he is a stand up guy in checking on an injured Wildcat. He is definately a talent and exciting to watch. There are some major schools that could benefit from his playing

Hope Neeley keeps it up adn gets the publicity that he needs to get a big offer. I believe he'll do well in basketball and in life. I'm glad everyone in the 8th is enjoying him because he was joy to watch when he wore a different shade of Maroon a little south of there.

Neely is a great shooter. Could he go to UK or Tenn. ? Come on...don't kid yourselves. He was a great shooter when he played for Owsley to. I could see him at a Cumberland or Union. But DI ? ha. Congrats Neeley on having such a great year so far.

It is nice to see these players in the 8th region.

Daniel is a great kid and a great basketball player. I havent seen him play since he left Owsley County, but I dont see him as a DI player. He doesnt have the size to play DI basketball.

 

I am glad to see Daniel doing well though.

The kid is a very good basketball player, but let me tell all of you and the baseball coach at Owen County he is a better baseball player. He understands the game so well. A very very good hitter and really good in the outfield can cover a lot of ground out there.

If he hasn't grown anymore since he was at Owsley County, Daniel is about 5'10.

I agree with all the good things said on here about him. He's a great person, very intelligent, and would have been one of the top guards in the 14th (along with Hazard's Hicks) had he chosen to have stayed at Owsley. He is definitely an unreal shooter. Against Breathitt County in the final game of the 2005 season he was hitting 3's from everywhere. Breathitt's defenders would come out on him to cut off his 3's, and he would simply back up about 5 to 7 feet and hit it anyway......from 25 feet!!! Breathitt only lost 2 or 3 games that year, and that was one of them.

A lot of posters are raving about Daniel's shooting, but he is the best passer I have seen in 40 years. I've never seen anyone see the floor like that.

Does anyone know what Daniel's statistics are for the season?
