I heard that Hanover and Centre were at the Class A watching him..It appears someone has noticed him.

Neeley is the best I've seen along with Hester. I still think Hester is better to the basket and dish off drives than Neeley , but I agree that Neeley has a much better shot than Mike. Both are about the same in size , so I think D2 is the best they would see, I hope I'm wrong.

Daniel was a talented player when he was at Owsley. I haven't had the chance to watch him since he moved, but I sure he has improved. But, unless he has improved and grown a great deal D-I might be a stretch. But, some smaller school will give him a full ride.

Is Neeley listed as a top 50 player in the state? If not, he better get out and get some exposure to go D-1. Its just the way it is, not saying he cannot play at that level but if he isnt in front of the right people, it will be difficult.

No bigger fan of Daniel Neeley than me, he definitely would have been one of the top players, if not the top, in the 14th if he had stayed at Owsley, but he is not really D-1 material. He can (and should) play at a lower level, though. I wish he had stayed at Owsley so I could watch him play this year, but on the other hand, I'm glad Lee doesn't have to deal with him.

Plenty big enough heart, just not enough stature. He is program 5' 10". He has made Owen's other players play @ a different confidence level. Passing, shooting, eyes in the front back and sides of his head to see the floor better than most in the entire state all classes. We in the 8th have benefitted by having to allow the guards in the region something to aspire to. d1 no, D2 or 3 Naia most def. Northern should really make a trip down the road to see this kid. Any NKU alums out there should make a call to your AD.

I agree completly I would love to see a match up between these two when Hester gets back. Maybe in regionals.

Nothing against Owen Co, but I hate to see Owsley Co lose a player of that caliber especially given he had grown up there. For the size of school, Owsley has always put a god team on the floor year in year out. This year WITH Neeley, they would again challenged for the 56th.

Would not be the star that he probably be at a smaller school, but I've seen alot of under 6' guards that don't have his shooting skills or basketball savvy play D1. He might not be UK or Louisville... but neither were a few boys that ended up at Vandy and most recently Tenn.

Neely is good but he doesnt really play good teams night in and night out that Hester plays. I would love to see these two square off in a game but until then all we know is they are both fine players. Who knows Hester may never be the old mike since his surgery 4 weeks ago.

Both are great talents and I think it would be fun to watch them play eachother in the region, but I don't think it is going to happen. I don't think Owen is going to beat Gallatin to get out of districts.

Hester is pretty good, if Neely is better I would love to see him in action. Hopefully the Rebs can make it to the regional.

Travis Ford didn't have d-1 size either and he played his way into a rotation. I have also seen several players of the same stature come and go at schools like EKU that didn't have his talent level.
