He was at SK my freshman year. I don't know too much about him as a coach, but most students I know liked him. He connects to kids pretty easily. I was a fan of him when I knew him.

I am a giant supporter of the shorts.

There was a sports science episode about this. I think it said it actually lowers a players bat speed, but you'd have to check. I think its more of a psychological thing than an actual physical improvement.

I don't have a specific story, but I do completely entitle football to the person I am today. It gave me confidence, a great work ethic, and I made so many lifelong friends. Thank God for high school football.

What time are all the games?

Me too. There are some good games slated for friday.

I never wanted to admit it, but I thought the same thing.

I would not say that they are the most talented, because they're just not, but I would say that their heart and hard nosed approach to the game makes up for what they don't have in pure talent. They are playing some really good ball at a perfect time, and have done everything they have had to do to get to this point, but they aren't "better" than a highlands or an NCC, but come to think of it they weren't better than Boone or Male, and many picked them to lose to Conner. Basically I don't think that's a fair question to ask of these kids. There is a few teams that are "better," but they have been good enough to make it to the state title game. That's not to shabby.

Did anyone else get the feeling that Male didn't really care that much about this game?

Lightning delay = Dixie victory. History has proven that. Otherwise SK's chances are good.

Last I talked to coach Marksberry I believe he said the track was going to be redone at regulation size around the football field. Could be wrong, but that's what I remember.

That's what Coach Marksberry said. He also said if they had decided to build the stadium in the bowl where the current practice field is is would've cost 6 million. With all the budget cuts going on, they had to eat the 5 million and settle for the current field location.

That field is beautiful. I'm so jealous of the current players.

That kid has some serious speed and has the explosive potential to make it to the next level. He has a lot of work to do still though.

Was this player kicked off of Summit View's team for academic reasons?

Charlie Siffel was on a whole different level. Amazing.

Definitely not say best in the state, and maybe not even NKY for that matter, but the best on Simon Kenton's squad is Jeff Slavey. I've seen him drill 10 straight from volleyball lines, and he's automatic from 3 point land, WITH HIS OFFHAND. Very impressive.
