theguru Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 There were some interesting tidbits of information floating around the 9th region tournament about Coach Carr. Has he coached his last game at Scott? Is it all just idle talk? Anyone?
Big Slick Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I think if a school is looking, they won't find much better.
Bird Bath Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I think if a school is looking, they won't find much better. I agree! I am certain he would be on a handful of schools short list....
Xs and Os Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Has been very successful since Scott has been in the 10th.
Texas Leaguer Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I'd rather hope its all idle talk as Scott has a great coach and I'd hate to lose him being a Scott fan.
goaheadandjump Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 What jobs are even rumored to be open in NKy? I for one have not heard much yet and obviously for people to be talking about him leaving it would have to be a premier position.
Texas Leaguer Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 ^I don't think it would be for a NKY job as Scott is one of the better places to be at and hardly anywhere else would be an upgrade. It would have to be a more premier job at another school out of the area or maybe as an assistant on the college level.
4pointplay Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Tough loss against GRC and there are always rumors at the end of every season. Can't see him not coaching and his family is still in N Ky so I would think there would have to be a job opening in N Ky that would interest him for him to leave. I know Scott had probably their best frosh team since he started so there is some talent in the pipeline. They will only have two returning starters coming back for next year so they may struggle waiting for those frosh to grow up next year. Always an entertaining time of the year when this type of information starts floating around.
CATBIRD Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 What did you hear at the tournament? I heard there was pressure to have him removed. Some said that when Scott and Highlands played he really embarassed the O'Conner's during a time-out when he chewed his big center Daniel out. Even the Highlands parents said they felt bad for the young man. And there have been other instances where he short-circuited and exploded on some of his other players past and present. AHSPanther23 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I think Carr has done a good job as HC at Scott. Has he had pressure since the incident catbird?
Texas Leaguer Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Carr has always been loud and very vocal on the sidelines and has been that way for many years. If that is the reason why they want him removed, then it should have been done years ago. His teams constantly produce and do well. I know Carr personally and he is a great guy. He gets heated during the games but his players respond from it and do well. However, everyone has to get chewed out at some point by a coach, its a fact of life as no one is perfect. There is no issue here. Carr is there to stay so long as he wants to.

I sat directly behind the bench during that game and my wife and I, along with several other behind the bench, will tell you that Coach Carr was not out of line. He is def. demonstrative but has been since I have seen him coach. He does a great job with these kids in not only basketball, but in LIFE. And to me, that is by far the most important aspect. I have also yet to see him not pick up and encourage any kid that he has corrected. Many many adults fail to do this and usually leave the kid in pieces and fail to recognize what they have done. Just go watch a youth football game!! Coach Carr is a great representative for the School, and administration. You don't have to agree with his tactics but in the end it does have positive results. I also wish people would get to hear all the positive impacts he has had on certain kids lives. Few know of them because he doesn't brag and he is not in it to be patted on the back. That is what I want from my coach because I haven't had too many life experiences in the work place where I am coddeled. It would be a shame if he was being preassured to leave. If that is the case, then the administrator making that decision should be preassured to leave.
Clyde Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 In my few dealings with Coach Carr I've found him to be a stand-up guy.
