After continuing to read this thread my only question is, "why would Coach Carr want to continue at a school where he is thought of like this"? I mean, he has brought a winning product to the court and that is what he was hired to do (I assume) but it appears that people are threatened or shocked at his personality.

 

My advice to Coach Carr is to get out of there ASAP with his head high and with all his dignity and find a school that will appreciate his passion and ability to coach. If the Scott program fails in a few years, the cries for his head will change to cries of sorrow. Then and only then, these "people" will have gotten what they deserve BUT at the kids expense. Sad situation is all I can say.

I disagree with the statement that the program would fade if Coach Carr left. That would mean that he had not built a program. The fact that Coach Trame and Coach Carr have created a solid foundation means that Scott should be able to land a quality coach that is willing to continue what has been set up.

 

Looking in from the outside and simply reading some of the post, there seems to be some issues with support from the administration and from some parents. Now, what coach is going to want to go into that type of atmosphere? I do think Scott is a great program, Trame and Carr have done wonders, I think it would be a shame if Carr left becuase, as stated in a previous post, a few parents complain because thier baby gets called out during games. I would have loved to have played for a guy like Carr, in your face, aggressive, energetic, that is basketball. If you dont like it, go play Church Ball.

I obviously do not know who everyone is that is throwing in their two cents and speculating on every rumor they have heard. Being part of the Scott family I can assure you he has more support that not. A lot of these comments are pure speculation or conjecture. The majority of the kids at Scott appreciate him and I can assure you many many parents appreciate the accountability. That level of accountability will only help these young men succeed in life and that is ultimately what it is all about. With that said, no coach or administrator can make everyone happy. There are so many minutes, so many spots for the team and ultimately that leaves the majority upset because their kid is 'all-world' and never gets off the bench. That's part of it. For those outside looking in, well, simply don't believe everything you hear. The overall majority of the posters have clearly stated the type of person Coach Carr is and if a few want to see him once or twice a year and form an opinion. Well, that's your shortcomings. Just don't tear a good person down (and believe me not all coaches are in this category) that has the kids best interest in mind.
