Speaking from a Campbell County point of view. I believe he should move somewhere like the 15th region, yes that's a good place, or 1st region, that would be a good move. I'm all for him getting out if the 10th region. My idea has "nothing" to do with him being a bad coach. Him being gone would be good for every school in the 10th, well, except Scott. :clap:

I'm thinking more like Vegas where he could do magic tricks.

It's a shame that a parent is able to run a coach out like this! As mentioned by others, he has one heck of a record since he has been at Scott. The sad thing is if it's a parent of senior, then the kids coming up will be the ones who suffer, just because someone had a vendetta.

 

Where would Carr go next? Who would replace him? Would someone like Davis who is the JV coach at Simon Kenton take this job? It seems like he has been ready for awhile now, possibly waiting for the right time/job?

Everyone was treated the same way by Carr. Make a mistake and you will know it. Three year starter or not he should not get special treatment. But of course if Carr yells at eveyone but littlle (Big) Johnnie, then everything is ok. But yell at Johinnie and there is a problem. If the parents had a problem with the way Carr coached then they should have spoken up on behalf of all the players and not when little Johnnie is yelled at! That's the difference between Carr and these parents, Carr has every players interest at heart and the parents care only about their own!

From what I understand he has been trying to get out of Scott since atleast last year. I know he interviewed for the Highlands job after Willie Schlarman resigned. Sounds like its just not a good fit. He is obviously a very intense coach with very high demands and expectations for his players. Some administrations do not like this especially when they have to field calls from upset parents often.

 

He obviously knows what he is doing but it just doesnt seem like its a good fit.

Let's face it, you know what you got in coach Carr. He is an "in your face if you screw up" type guy. He also has the backs of his kids and they respect him for it. From tryouts to the regionals he is intense and there should be not surprises if you screw up and he jumps you. He is not my style of coach but he is a very good coach. He has done wonders for a program that would fad into just another underachieving decent sized program if he left.

Coach Carr IS Scott High in my opinion. If they let him go, that would be a terrible mistake.

Well the program would be fine maybe 2-3 years down the road if Carr left. Past that, it would be up entirely to the new coach and his staff to develop the players that are coming in from the middle schools, etc. So, for a time, Scott would be fine. Past that time interval we would see the effect of Carr leaving the program.

I believe he is a good coach and gets good performance from his players/teams. I do not personally know any of the specifics related to him relating to players and/or administration..........my only observation is he does tend to lose control of his emotions and that is a problem. When the whole gym goes quiet as you "address" a player's mistake and it is continued to the point that it is "uncomfortably embarrassing" ....it isn't good coaching, it's an anger management issue that can/should be altered. That being said, I would hope that is not the only issue that would cause his departure............:confused:

I completely agree, very different things. If Carr sticks around those "fine" years might turn into something great or "special". If he leaves, they were given the framework early and will follow it but under a different coach, things may not turnout to what they could have been.

I agree with your assessment. I remember him playing Intramural ball out at NKU during college and he was a hothead then. Seems like things havent changed. Its okay to get upset with kids but you have to figure out how to channel that anger to get the best positive result and embarrassing a kid in a gym in front of his family is not acceptable IMO. Seems like this is his MO and from what I understand it is why he didnt get a 2nd interview at Highlands.
