titletownclown
Let's give some love to some of those lesser known films. I'll start: In Bruges- starring Colin Farrel, Brendon Gleeson, and Ralph Fiennes- comedy/drama about two hitmen taking a vacation in Bruges, Belgium. Very profane language but very, very funny, but can switch from humorous to serious in a matter of seconds. Won some foreign film award. Just a great, great movie. Wow!! I just finished watching In Bruges. You definitely hit the nail on the head with this recommendation. The movie literally has everything; humor, drama, suspense, emotions, everything. The soundtrack was incredible and I loved the ending. As a HUGE fan of dry British wit, I was falling over in the floor laughing quite often. This flick will definitely be added to my DVD collection. 2 thumbs up to CCH for this recommendation.:thumb::thumb:

titletownclown
Billy Elliot. I've added this movie and The Wraith to my Netflix queue. I've become quite enamored with Indie films as of late.

Your in for a treat with The Wraith especially if you dig cars. Great soundtrack as well.... featuring Billy Idol, Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne. titletownclown
Magnolia - PTA at his best. Stories that don't seem connected end up to be intertwined. Just finished watching Magnolia. EXCELLENT movie. It was very "Crash"esque in its style. :thumb::thumb:

Pancake
Similar to wrestler, I used to watch every movie that was released when I was in college, good or bad. Now, I see a movie in the theatre a few times a year. Here some of the ones that really stand out for me. Pi - directed by Darren Aronofsky Judy Berlin - Never made it to the theatres outside of NY/LA. I was fortunate to be visiting a friend of mine at Emerson film school. We watched it before it was released and had a Q&A with the producer. Very cool. Last movie made by Madeline Kahn. Happiness - Solondz flick (Welcome to the Dollhouse). This one is unique. Without Limits - Best movie on Steve Prefontaine. Life as a House - not as unknown, Kevin Kline is amazing. Cube - One of the strangest movies I have ever seen. Memento - Guy Pearce, very original Johnny Stecchino - One of Roberto Benigni's first movies. Hilarious. Pollock - Ed Harris as the famous artist. American History X - Edward Norton's best role. Not even close IMHO... Primal fear was much better.
The Scribe
Prince of Darkness, by John Carpenter Saw it in the theater when it came out and didn't touch a mirror for a month. Cinemax has been wearing it out this month. Nice cameo by Alice Cooper.
