The Rams navigated the strongest schedule in program history to reach their third state championship game, but fell for the second straight year to 1A's albatross.

2024 Outlook

Raceland will turn the page on the winningest and most accomplished senior class to ever wear the orange and black. New starters will litter the line-up at crucial positions. The foundation is too strong for the bottom to completely drop out, but the road to Kroger Field will be longer and feature more obstacles than they've seen in a few years. A sub .500 regular season is a distinct possibility.

The rebuilding rams get 4 week at home with one being a bye week. Then back to back trips to Northern Kentucky against Highlands and New Cath. Back at home against Hazard and then district play until LCA the last game of the season. Tough is all I can say.

Wow, impressive schedule! Raceland's record may take a hit or two early but they will likely be a tough out for anybody at year end. Coach Salmons' teams usually peak at the right time. Few people expected Raceland's 2017 team to make the state final and in 2020 they gave state champion Paintsville by far their closest run of the tournament with a young team that struggled early. I'm sure Raceland will find a way to be in the thick of things and be in a position to make a deep run.
