Congrats to Scott for winning the very close game. Both teams very evenly matched. Either team could have been the #1-2-3 seed and both could have easily been sitting on the outside come tournament time. The district is very close from top to bottom.

I think everyone is over analyzing the situation too much. Last season was very successful for Scott, but they had a large senior class that has moved on. Nobody complained about open enrollment when they went deep into the playoffs. This season started with a very young squad and the injuries have piled up early. Their top lineman was done for the season before the season started. Their quarterback and most talented player is on the shelf indefinitely. They are taking their lumps right now with a tough stretch of games, but the good news is the district is not very good. The district that they will see in the playoffs has one really good team and the rest aren't very good either.

I don't have my history sheet with me, but Scott has beaten Dixie once. I believe it was in the mid to late 80's.

Athletic Director Ken Mueller is retiring this year after a very long career at Scott. It is nice that all the sports teams are doing well for his final year.

Coach Ford would make an excellent varsity head coach.

I would imagine missing practice for multiple days is going to make some teams rusty.

About as good of a regular season game as you will get. Nice crowd. Great intensity. This definitely had a playoff environment and will greatly benefit both teams having this kind of game.

Congrats to the Scott football program for winning Varsity vs Holmes, JV vs Holmes, freshman vs New Cath, and Varsity over Aiken in a 6 day period.

The schedule for the 2015 & 2016 will be very competitive for the Eagles. The level of competition will increase greatly.

Aiken had barely 20 players at the start of the game. The game stopped several times due to injuries. One of Aiken players was ejected late in the game for some type of behavior issue. Aiken played fairly solid the first quarter. A couple of dropped passes in the first half could have easily have been touchdowns. Fatigue due from playing both ways and the injuries took their toll on Aiken. For anybody who hasn't been, Stagill stadium at Taft High School is a top notch facility.

I think it was a good game and nearly perfect weather for the game. I think the game is a really good event and gives everyone a chance to see the players one last time before they move on in life. If there is one thing that I would like to see improved on is the number of participants in the game. Limiting each school to five participants should be changed. I think some of the bigger schools could have a few more, while some of the smaller schools might have less. Some schools on some years have large talented senior classes, while some schools might have a smaller class that year.
