Buddy of mine said that Cal and Mitch are expected to meet at 4 today.

Mitch: Hey Cal, you wanna leave?

Cal: Nope.

Mitch: Okay sounds great.

  • I believe universities, in general, are in a weird spot. You have a diminishing product (college bball) with some ridiculous salaries. Who knows what college hoops will look like in five years, or if

Just read that as of now, Calipari is expected to do his radio show at 6pm tonight.

Listening to Matt Jones this morning.

From an unnamed non power 5 assistant coach.   Kentucky is the easiest team in the country to scout. You can do it in an hour.  They may still beat you because they have so much talent.  But they run the same stuff all the time.

Wish there was a way I could show you my shocked face!!

Just listened to the first few minutes.  He said he hasn't met with Barnhardt yet and thinks that he will tomorrow.  That's all I really needed to hear, so turned it off.

No one they played matches up like Oakland. Did you see NC State attack it? Terrific. Maybe UK can rent the film lol.

I heard the last part of Calipari's radio show on the way home. He isn't going anywhere.

Yeah, Barnhart is going to have to fire him. He's not agreeing to part ways. If Barnhart was gonna do so, it needed to happen before that radio ahow.

That D by Oakland was terrible

What shocked me was, they didn’t watch any tape of it or work on it in practice how they wanted to attack it??

Cal is still going to be the coach next year.......unfortunately !!!

I am pretty sure you completely misunderstood what Sheppard met. Even the players after the game talked about how they were prepared for the zone. That even showed at the beginning of the game, when UK was easily getting in the middle of it down low and just kept missing bunnies. I am pretty sure what Sheppard met when he said that, was they had never seen that type of zone in a real game. It was the first time actually having to play against it.

They obviously worked on it as evident by how UK was attacking it from the jump. Preparing for something and playing against something are two totally separate things.

I agree, it wasn't an issue with beating the defense it was the missed shots at the rim, which has been a glaring issue all season. I was at the Florida game and Ugo had a great game on defense he couldn't make a shot at the rim. DJ, Edwards and our bigs struggled mightily to make a layup or 3ft shot all season and it carried into the tournaments.

UK also had a stretch where they were unable to score in transition 5 or 6 times on fast breaks with the numbers advantage.

Finishing was an issue all year.
