Just read this is the first year that Cal can opt into his retirement gig with UK paying $1,000,000 a year to be a special assistant to the AD. He has until April 15 to opt in to this position each year.

Now wouldn’t that be some kind of poetic justice.

Well Michigan for Cal is out as Michigan is hiring Dusty May just announced.

I can't believe it. Guy on Twitter said his brother's girlfriend's neighbor, who has connections, said that Cal to Michigan was a done deal a few hours ago.

Imagine Cal in a GM type role, involved with NIL and Recruiting or whatever that means and Jay Wright, who doesn't want to do all that stuff, is the Head Coach.

Cal must not wanted to go there I am sure they would take him over Dusty May.

This fascinates me.  I've said all along, Calipari as an ambassador/head recruiter for UK is the best situation UK could hope for.

Little did he know, his neighbors, brothers girlfriend is a closet Ohio State fan.

I assume he has some feelers out there. How many jobs are available that he would even consider?

This cycle? None at the moment.

Why make $1 million when you can make $10 million. ?

He's 65, might want to kick it on the Jersey shore a bit more at this time in his life.

IMO his ego and pride is too big to go out on how the last few years went. If UK had went on a run this year, I think Cal may have been willing to step into that role and or go elsewhere. However, I just don’t see him wanting to stop coaching on this note.

I completely agree. I think either publicly or not, a decision will be made that next year is it. If he wants to go out on top or redeemed, he'll have one more shot to do it.

I will predict before tomorrow that Cal is gonna come back and BBN is gonna be ruthless next year haha!

I guess we will now see if Scott Drew meant what he said a couple of days ago about his commitment to Baylor now they have been knocked out by Clemson.

Matt Jones held a space where he said that have been surprised by how many higher ups and donors want a change. He tried to get a big NIL donor to come on but couldn’t and will be on the show tomorrow.

That guy is going to say how much money Cal is costing the players by not allowing them to do certain deals and shutting it down.

I just feel with all that coming out and how Mitch is going to make Cal give up full control, that he will leave.

If Calipari is out, Scott Drew just doesn't do it for me. But if that's who is next, I sure hope he does more for Kentucky than he's done at Baylor (and I acknowledge, he brought that program back from the dead) and I will be pulling hard for him.
