UK can pay Cal $550K plus some change a month for 5 years instead of paying one lump sum of $33 Mil.

If they have the “it’s next year or never” talk with Cal, he damn sure isn’t walking away then. Make them fire you and collect $30 million.

I assume he has some feelers out there. How many jobs are available that he would even consider?

Just coming to say the same thing.

He has to go to UL as the ultimate heel move. Do it for the love of college basketball, Cal! At that point, I would advocate for a UK press conference and over the loud speakers blares “I am a real American…” and Pitino comes out of the tunnel. 

Imagine the outrage if Cal said this after getting ran off of the floor in two of last three games, like Self (Kansas) was.

Absolutely!

Just read this is the first year that Cal can opt into his retirement gig with UK paying $1,000,000 a year to be a special assistant to the AD. He has until April 15 to opt in to this position each year.
