All Tell
Are you kidding me???? I read about this on the Louisville board and thought no one would be silly enough to do this. But sure enough Kentucky is now claiming (based on a "championship" determined by a ranking system invented more then 20 years AFTER the season) they they are were the first school to win football and basketball championships in the same year. halfback20
Why is that sad and pathetic, if it's true? Are both of UK's titles in that year recognized as championships?

Hangman
Sad, pathetic, and typical? Is it really that big of a deal to you? I certainly hope not.

UKPat02
You didn't really think there was something Florida has done for longer, bigger, or better than UK, did you?
All Tell
I think it's pretty pathetic when a so called "big time" athletic program starts claiming a title that is based on a computer system that started 23 years AFTER the season in question. LSURock
UF is the only school to actually hold both titles at the same time. Pretty impressive really. I hate it, but its still pretty impressive.

Is the UK program really claiming it, or is it just someone who writes an article for the website?
All Tell
That would be the official website of the athletic program not a fan site so I would say yes, UK's athletic department is claiming it.
T-CAT4LIFE
After all this time I could have swore you were a UK fan, All Tell. Sure had me fooled! However, I am sorry that UK fans claiming something that actually has support in theory, bothers you so much.:jump:
