Is Florida's titles similar to Tiger Woods's Grand Slam?

I would venture to say that this has been pointed out before, but noone gave it a second thought. Then after UF does it, it seems like a goood time to give some food for thought to some UK fans to contemplate. No big deal IMO. Like one poster said, you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Wouldn't the NCAA Slam be football, basketball and baseball in the same school year? It's the Tiger Slam without baseball...

Understood, but the two titles have come in different academic years.

I would think the impressive feat would have been football and hoops in succession not vice-versa.

I just think if you're talking a NCAA Slam, baseball should be included...

Florida still has a really good chance to win the basketball championship this year too... Now that would be EXTREMELY impressive.

Point was that UF's two titles were won id different academic years.

Some say that the Tiger Slam is not truly the Grand Slam because he won the last two majors, then the first two the following season.

If there is a NCAA Slam and it's only basketball and football, it's in the same academic year.

It's like the Tiger slam in the fact that it was different years or seasons... It's unlike an official grand slam because it doesn't use all 3 big sports (for the purpose of the conversation, baseball is a big sport).

I believe releasing something like this is a bit pathetic the day after Florida wins it all in both. Looks like Big Brother is a little upset at the success of the Gators...

 

 

If I remember correctly UK released this fact at a home fooball game 1 or 2 years ago.
