Practicing and playing JV games don't require KHSAA eligibility.

Anyone wanna chat about the game Friday?

I can't wait!  Here you go, I think Highlands is going to play much like the Cooper game.  

I think if anyone thinks this game is going to be as "vanilla" as the first matchup and an 8-7 score is going to be somewhat the score in Round 2 is going to be greatly mistaken!  I think this is going to end up being a high scoring lots of offense type of game.  Because of my thinking I think the #1 stat for this game is whoever wins the Turnover stat wins this game!!!!  

Just checked the weather High for Fri is 53, low is 28, which makes me believe it will be probably in the mid 30's at game time.....silver lining is it should be DRY.  

I am going 28-24, winner is....whoever won the turnover game.

Really? 

This is an incredibly hard game to pick.

- Both teams have been in a state of flux at quarterback all year. I feel like we could see four different players take snaps in this game.

- It's comforting to know who you can turn to that's been reliable all season - Highlands has that, I don't know that CovCath does.

- But on the flipside, you don't want to be too dependant on one player to make everything happen for you, offensively. I think the Birds could be at a disadvantage there. CovCath knows who to key on.

- The first game was 8-7. Both defenses are currently in their best shape of the season.

- Lastly, it's Highlands vs. Covington Catholic in the playoffs. Anything could happen this Friday and I wouldn't be surprised.

I might wait until fifteen minutes before kick-off to flip a coin before I come in here to vote.

I saw the Cooper / Highlands game and even though the score was a surprise, IMO the result was more from an uninspired performance from Cooper than a breakthrough for Highlands. I thought Bottom (looks like a good future qb) missed a ton of throws and the offense had a lot of 3 and outs. 
a couple of big turnovers that gave favorable field positions fueled that score. 
I don’t see CCH giving up that much on D even with the new and improved Bluebird offense. I’m not buying what Highlands is selling. CCH still not dominating on offense but I’m picking CCH 17-0. 
 

Definitely the most interesting game in round 1.

52 feels like a TON of points in this game, but I think your logic on how you got there is sound.  I will be somewhat surprised if either teams cracks the 20 point mark (barring OT's), let alone both.

Total score won’t crack 21.  Highlands was given a TD in the last game apparently so I am going with 10-7 CCH. Championships are won on Defense

I’m just saying what the kid told me but with or without him BIRDS by a touchdown.

This is where I’m at, I am going to take Cov Cath 14-7. Barring getting very short fields on turnovers, I don’t think we have the offensive firepower to get above a couple of touchdowns. However, I feel really good defensively about how we are playing. It’s probably a one possession game and I think we’re just a little bit better team.

I tend to agree with this. MAYBE CCH can get to 21 if they can get the passing game going a little more than normal. However, I feel good about the defense keeping HHS in check regardless of who they have in the backfield.  I'll say 17-7 CCH
