From what I can gather, here are a few of the CCH records set in this game:

Total offense 706 yards

TD passes :6 which ties the record

TD receptions: 3 Sutton ties the record

Passing yards: Bleser 356

Total offense: Bleser 405

I'll go out on a limb and say that 507 yards passing by an opponent is also a record.

Dateline - Lexington,KY Ford Stadium

In an aerial assault reminiscent of Omaha Beach, the Catholic boys from Lexington and Covingtonville lit up the sky in a 56-49 victory for the boys from the North. Records and hearts were broken in a fun-filled evening for all.

The star of the night was Brandon "Cannonball" Brown. The frilly-haired baby-faced hero with the instincts of a cat burglar was all over the fake grass on both sides of the ball. Late in the first half, he deftly redirected a pass by the young lad from LC and with speed not seen since the days of Rick Hornsby, he toted the ol' pigskin down near the goal line which led to a last second crossing of the goal line that gave the Colonels a 7 point lead.

Cannonball was not finished with the fireworks. After gaining numerous yards and avoiding innumerable tackle attempts in the 2nd half, injury came upon him. The fans of the visiting Catholics were no long asking "where in the world is Johnsoville" and instead were hushed while the private school educated doctors from Covingtonville attended to the Colonel hero. It did not look promising as young Brandon was carried off the field on a stretcher supported by 18 of his fellow Colonel teammates.

KHSAA leader Bridgid DeVries , after a record setting meeting with the BOC, made her way to the press box and declared "Brandon Brown is hereby forbidden from returning to this game." However, since the leaders of Lexington Catholic invested ALL of Mr. Ford's generous donation into the turf and made the decision to do nothing to the Civil War era PA system, no one on the Colonel sideline heard it and young Cannonball returned to the game where he sealed the victory with a gravity-defying game-ending aerial theft.

Onto Johnsonville.

Great game and fun to watch. Well officiated despite some comments here about the fumble in the endzone (LexCath had a few TDs called back because of offensive pass interference too). CCH running backs were hard to bring down. Guy had the dropsies which is atypical, but we wouldn't have got here without him. Revere made many spectacular catches but showed he wasn't perfect when he juggled the one late which would have been the go ahead TD. I wonder about the drive CovCath has to make next week and it's effect on the players, of course mountain teams have to do this or worse all the time. I'll be rooting for CCH the next two weeks but no more. Go Colonels!

I'll assume that the ref had a much better angle than I did on the fumble call into the endzone. The OPI call was perhaps the easiest call of the night.

I thought the boys in stripes did a good job.

Pretty good satirical effort, but IMO, you play second fiddle and fall greatly to Carl Luther. Should be an interesting and humorous week of wit.
