Per Facebook, Evan Preston has resigned as head coach. He spent two seasons at Garrard County.

Personally, the first call I would make, would be to current assistant coach Cassandra McWhorter. What she did for Lincoln and Somerset programs speaks volume. I think she would be a huge asset here if she wants the job.

The revolving door of coaches at GC continue for the basketball programs.  I could be wrong, but I don’t see Coach Mcwhorter wanting it.  She’s not coached many severe rebuilds.

It's so strange how you always take shots at Garrard County.  I just find that odd....  Looking back, you have a history of doing that.

Not Garrard County.  Garrard County has great people, and is a solid community.  Garrard County's leadership specifically for basketball is poor.  A lot of coaches have been framed as the issue over the years, when in reality it's the systems in place.

Cassandra McWhorter was named the head coach today. She is the 12th girls coach in school history. McWhorter, a Lincoln County native, was the coach of the Lady Patriots for a dozen years before moving to Somerset High School for two seasons. She spent last season as an assistant at Garrard. She and her family have lived in Lancaster for years, even when she coached at Lincoln and Somerset.

Definitely a good hire for the Lady Lions!

Excellent hire by Garrard.  That's one that could really turn their program around in a few years.
