Either:

1. Take out the first round of playoffs, 1 seed gets a bye and 2-3 seeds play, move basketball season up a week or

2. Play girls/boys state tournament both in Rupp Arena the first week after regionals, Monday through Saturday, (just 1 day longer than it is now)

Monday - 8 girls games starting @ 8:30/10:00/11:30/1:00, empty the gym, start back @ 5:00, 6:30, 8:00, 9:30

Tuesday - 8 boys games with the same format as above in the girls

Wednesday - 4 girls games just like it is now, 12:00 & 1:30 then 6:30 & 8:00

Thursday - 4 boys games just like the girls above

Friday - Girls semifinal games @ 12:00 & 1:30, Boys semifinal games @ 6:30 &

8:00

Saturday - Girls Championship @ 2:00, clear the gym, boys championship @ 7:00

What's everyone think??

You're taking the teams who advance out of school for a full 5 days and adding the expense of hotels, etc. to those same schools. This could be a reason they want it as short a period as possible.

KHSAA foots the bill for the hotels of the teams, nothing added there plus the KHSAA gives a nice reimbursement on the food also so that's not a problem. 8 of the teams will be going home after the first day in both tournaments so I don't see a big problem there either, teams that win on the first day could easily return home since the games are centrally located in Rupp, don't see a problem with any of it, would love to see them try it 1 year!!
