psychicscubadiver
According to Calpreps... In 2014 NCC had a schedule strength of 7.9. Four out of the other thirty-eight schools in 2A had an equal or harder schedule: DeSales (7.9), CAL (13.7), Murray (12.4), and Somerset (12.8). One of out thirty-two 1A schools had a harder schedule: Mayfield (8.3). In 2013 NCC had a schedule strength of 7.7. Six out of the other thirty-eight schools in 2A had a harder schedule: Desales (9.9), CAL (12.3), Murray (11.3) , Somerset (10.5), Lexington Christian (9.9), and Holy Cross [Covington] (9.2). None of the thirty-two 1A schools had a harder schedule. It is also worth noting that Somerset (2014 only), Lexington Christian, and Holy Cross all had losing seasons (0-10, 1-10, and 1-10 respectively). All other teams had winning seasons. In case anyone else was curious about the numbers.

frankdracman23
NCC will be good and could be very good if the QB develops. Last year he was thrown into it as a Soph in the 3rd game with no experience because starting QB broke his leg in a scrimmage and then they moved the back-up QB to wide receiver. Smith will have to be healthy all year (and do not under-estimate his contributions as a kick returner) and they will need to find a receiver to go along with the back-up QB who moved there and did well last year. The district competition should be Lloyd and then either Holy Cross or Newport. Lloyd looks like they work on offense 90% of the time and they really need to work on their defense to stop NCC. mexitucky
The whole season hinges on how the OLine plays. Last year it was not good compared to past seasons. Against teams like De Sales, you better be able to win as many battles as you lose for any hope of winning. -50 yards in a half is a direct result of losing at the line. Offensive line could have been better last year but they experimented and had early injuries, although they did lead the team to another state final appearance. This year's group is extremely inexperienced but coach Faust is one of the best in the business, so let's see what the finished product is at the end of the year. Imo, they are not the fastest group and his blocking scheme relies on speed. Good luck!
Pioneer.Pride
A post season matchup with Mayfield would be very intriguing. I'm very curious to see if Mayfield can be as dominant in 2A as they were in 1A.
Voice of Reason
A post season matchup with Mayfield would be very intriguing. I'm very curious to see if Mayfield can be as dominant in 2A as they were in 1A. I don't expect them to be in the next 5 title games in 2A, but they will be a contender every year. I expect them to be in the top 5 in 2A every year, maybe even top 3 every year. The big challenge is going to be DeSales and CAL. Those two look to be putting very high level teams out every year now and both are on Mayfield's side of the bracket. With two teams like that on the same side of the bracket, that will certainly be a big challenge. Guest comeonman
Everson had 40 attempts a game though. Cause I doubt Everson wouldn't be the leader if not for so many attempts. Smith would have those type numbers with that many attempts.
Voice of Reason
Everson had 40 attempts a game though. Can someone break down the yards Smith has gain based on his attempts. Cause I doubt Everson wouldn't be the leader if not for so many attempts. Smith would have those type numbers with that many attempts. Smith has been playing varsity since he was a freshman. The total carries for the two of them might closer than you think with Smith perhaps ending with more career carries.
