There are going to be some great openers to start the 06 season. I think the Lexington catholic Vs St. X will be a dandi. HOLY WAR BABY!!!! Haha what do the rest of you all think will be the best opener game for te 06 season.

oppsss. I just realized that the lexcath and st.x game wont be untill week 2 of the season. Sorry for that guys i forgot about the game that catholic had to give up.

What does LexCath have coming back?

They do loose a lot of starters but they are returning maybe 4 of the biggest playmakers in 3a and maybe even they state in Ben Revere, Shane Isreal, Jacob Locknane, and Winston Guy. But the knights have a strong upcoming Jr class to which i think that they could be relitivly good with the leadership of there playmeakers.

I'm betting that X will beat LexCath pretty bad. More like the 04 game than the 05 game. No Burke will be bad news for the Knights.

I think this is going to be a good game. The biggest lost for Catholic will not be Justin Burke, it will be Bob Sphire. Catholic has had a history of being able to replace their QB's Neff, Doss, Burke, etc...They will be fine in that aspect, but the loss of a great offensive mind like Sphire is irreplaceable. I think Catholic will still be a very tough team and give St. Xavier a test in week 2.

Anybody can call plays. You don't just replace D1 quarterbacks and Neff/Doss weren't close to being in the same league as Justin Burke. The best playmaker returning for Lex Cath is Wes Caldwell, but he is a WR.

The fact is that even with Burke, Sphire and home field they fell short of beating X last year. This year all that is reversed. LexCath will lose big.

If tradition as anything to do with it X is most vulnerable early in the season. They replace so many people every year that it usually takes them a few games to get in gear.

Who gets the ball to Wes Caldwell this year for Lexington Catholic?

X by a lot

Theres going to be a contest between a Sr Qb Tyler Hancock and a Soph QB Will Letton. He is the Son of the New head Coach. Both us these guys have decent arms but Letton has a powerful arm for his size. Neither of these guys will be BURKE calliber next yr but i believe they could have an effect.

Dixie vs. Highlands should be a good first week matchup this year

Whats the status on new field?

I agree.
