Best first week games for 06 season? Maybe Lexcath VS St. X?

CR, between Zoeller, Anderson, Finch, and Simmons (don't forget about Will), you will see a lot of movement all over the field. Drew Eckman will also provide a lot of ability as an RB. I can't remember when I've ever been more excited about backfield possibilities at X. If Coaches Glaser, Chitwood and Wagoner ever let their offensive imaginations go wild, this coming season would be the time to do it.

In regards to Anderson vs. Finch, they have two very different running styles, so it is a tough comparison. Vic never ceases to amaze me with his speed, moves and ability to get extra yards after first contact. Nonetheless, I must admit that Deuce was the most impressive freshman back I have ever seen at St. X. since Dicky Lyons in the early 60's. Not many people menton it, but Finch is also one of the better linebackers I have seen. The presence of Deuce will allow Vic to spend more time at QB, WR, and even DB this year, while still maintaining a quality RB load. Finch, Simmons, and Eckman will also be able to give Anderson the needed breaks when his asthema is acting up, without the offense stalling.

By the way, I wanted to ask how your younger brother was doing. I was tremendously impressed with his defensive intensity, beginning when I saw him early last season against Scott Co. in a pre-season scrimmage. He did an excellent job all year, and hopefully some college recognized his future potental. :thumb:

Gee, do you think they will EVER let their playcalling imaginations run wild? You are absolutely correct in the varied possibilities with this group in the backfield! There is a good contrast in running styles and abilities amongst these guys. If the coaches allow themselves, they could really keep the opposing d-coordinators off balance. Should be fun to watch this offense develop.

Whats the status on new field?

From the posts in the other thread about new facilities in 2006, the field may not be ready by the Highlands game. However, it should be ready for the second home game in week 4. All I have to say is I'll believe it when I see it.

As for the game itself, it should be a good one, at least on paper. However, Dixie usually always starts slow. However, this year should be different with the abundance of returning starters and players with varsity experience. It'll be interesting to see who will step up and take the leadership role.

Who is Deuce????

How could an X-expert not know who Deuce is?

Deuce is Rolandan Finch, who was a SUPER RB for the Tigers 2nd-in-a row undefeated freshman team.

I'm afraid you're right, XCard. You would think that after decades of watching the same Tiger offense, I would know better than to expect a drastic change. Nevertheless, I do think that we will see some things this season which are outside the box for the normal Tiger repertoire. :jump: ;) :jump:

What are some numbers on Finch? Height, weight, bench, squat, etc.

I certainly hope so!

I thought you were talking about our "BGP Deuce"

Does the "BGP Deuce" have any elgibility left? Does he reside within our six state school boundry? Will he require dorm space? Can he run the 40 in 4.6 seconds or better electronically timed? Does he have the potential for adding to our National Merit Scholars list? ;)

He'd be great in the band! :D

It takes all types of talent to have a well-rounded student body. We can always use accomplished additions to our band. :thumb:

Did you see our execution* in the first game last year? :creepy:

(*what the head coach thought they were going to do to him afterwards)

I was just kidding about the sandbagging, CoachJ. ;)

BTW, you didn't go to the John McKay school of public speaking, did you?

Deuce looked like a machine in the T-X frosh game. Thats a great backfield combo!

This kid is a stud. He had 5 TDs against Butler in the last game of the year. (Butler was undefeated up to that game) He is also on the basketball team and rumored to throw a 90 mph fastball. On top of this Duece takes a couple of Honors classes.

Rolandan Finch II is called Duece because of the II.

No offense taken...just playing along.

And you're right...I should've given credit where credit was due, but I couldn't remember off the top of the head the originator.
