This kid is a stud. He had 5 TDs against Butler in the last game of the year. (Butler was undefeated up to that game) He is also on the basketball team and rumored to throw a 90 mph fastball. On top of this Duece takes a couple of Honors classes.

Rolandan Finch II is called Duece because of the II.

A freshman who can throw 90 MPH!!! I would like to know the age of this kid.

That's why I said rumored....one of his grade school coaches told me that it was true....but that is one of those have to see it to believe it things. This same coach said that baseball was Duece's best sport.

It takes all types of talent to have a well-rounded student body. We can always use accomplished additions to our band. :thumb:

On second thought, I think I'll steer The Deuce in the direction of Trinity, and we'll keep him for our drum corps. It's awesome, and he'll fit right in! :D

First of all, Ox, we'll be awful glad to have you down here once again, along with all the X Faithful for another slam-bang game! Speaking for all of us (and in my serious role as a Goodwill Ambassador of BGHS Football), we all are glad to hear that you all had a good time last season, weird weather and strange time notwithstanding...!!

BGHS will be bringing back some outstanding players once again, led by T Stuart Hines (who may be the best lineman in KY this fall) and HB Avery Hibbitt, who will be going after BGHS's all-time career rushing record this year (he is already our all-time leading scorer). One thing in our favor is that we have TWO junior QBs who turned in some very good play last season. Don't hold me to it, but Kevin might go to one QB and transfer the other to another position where he can make a significant contribution this time. Don't know which, so please don't ask! Defensively, we will be loaded at LB, and DB Ryan Beard is back as well...all three will be seniors. The players destined to win jobs this year saw plenty of action last season. Watch for Tucker Jackson at LB...a real stud!

Sounds like the Tigers will have all they want from the Purples again this year! I am looking forward to the trip again this year and hopefully will get home a lot earlier than 4:00am.

I was really impressed with your program last year. Felt like the team was disciplined and had a great demeanor on the field. Looks like yur coach is a good one. With having two returning QB's will there be anymore emphasis on the passing game or will he stick primarily to the run game with Hibbitt? I think a matchup of him and Vic to start the season will be great! X defense will have all new starters this year, this will be a great test for them early in the year and will let them know how they stand and what they will need to work on. It is said they will be a really solid unit, just need to get starting reps under their belts. You will need that 'stud LB' to keep Vic, Duece and Co. in check

His real name is Danny Almonte.

Harlan v.s. Cawood is always a great season opening game! Not as big of teams as LexCath v.s. St.X, but a good small-town, hard-hitting game.:fight:

Thanx, XCard! I really don't think that most people knew what to expect from us last year, and I'm glad it worked out the way the game did, the loss notwithstanding...it was a superb game, and I don't see why it can't be that way again come August! Should the weather cooperate better this time, I hope that both of our groups REALLY pack L.T. Smith Stadium this year! What matters most is that both sides come in, have a really great time, and enjoy some top flight hs football from two great programs! As a local yokel, I'd also put in a good word for Warren Central and Franklin-Simpson too...anything happens in that series!

Chris Tucker is another quality LB we've got coming back. He and Jackson will be starting for their third year each. He's not as big as Jackson, but he's ultra quick, and he'll deliver the slobberknocker as well as anybody. He's too small to play LB in college, but he could make an excellent Monster for somebody on the next level. We also have OLB Jeremy Mitchell, who's not much bigger than a hiccup, but his quickness can cause some real headaches for would-be blockers. There's an excellent DB who will finally get his chance to start this season after playing behind Bradley Barlow and Carlos Fugate for three seasons in Ike Harris. Harris played very well and saw considerable action last season with all the blowout wins, and he also started a couple of ball games.

It will be another typical BGHS defense...strong, very tough, and they fly to the ball! All in all, I think that it will be a super showcase of two great teams and two of the top contenders for Mr Football in Anderson and Hibbitt!

Look Mrs PH and me up at the game before ours starts...my wheelchair isn't hard to find, and I will probably be wearing my old Gold #57 jersey from my playing days! It'll be good to meet you, XTiger69, and anybody who wants to just say hey! I don't know what Westsider's plans are for that weekend, but if he comes, he might stick around with us again this year like last year! We love to meet our "extended family" at games when we can!:D

Should be a great game. I'll definitely try to look you up before the game. I'll be the one in green and gold:lol: Love to talk football with other fans.

Thanx, guys! I'm also looking forward to a return engagement with Ox...he's about as fun as anybody to talk with, can be a real hoot, and is about as knowledgable as anybody here!

This is starting to make me wish it was already August!!

Thank you for your kind words PurpleHaze. Much like you you, I am a connoiseur of Kentucky football history and love nothing more than conversing with someone such as yourself who is a veritable high school guru, with a motherload of knowledge. The Tigers this coming year will not return but 2 or 3 starters from 2005, but they do have a lot of young talent moving into the varsity ranks. I'm not too sure whether they will be able to handle the returning Purple hord in the first game, but by the end of the season they should be quite competitive with their 4A rivals. The Rafferty's Bowl will once again give me the opportunity to share time with my Bowling Green connections, which I am definitely looking forward to. I, for one, think it will once again be a great ballgame.......especially if we get to play the early game. :thumb:

Hey Ox, is there any word as yet on the start time of the Bowling Green game? The St. X web site still says TBA. I hope they are planning to start a little sooner just in case the same thing happens with the weather that happened last year.

I understand why they want St. X to play the second game; but, let's be practical, of the four teams in the Rafferty Bowl, St X. has the farthest to travel in the post game. Even without the weather related problems we still would have been home at 1 to 1:30 in the AM. That's an unrealistic expectation.
