If the entire 10-team field was reseeded top 4 teams get byes the first round. Which would then mean a round of 8, semifinals and finals, who would win?

 

1. Pikeville .7614

2. Mayfield .7532

3. Somerset .7528

4, Boyle .7300

5, Male .7164

6. Johnson Central .7058

7. CovCath .7041

8. Bell .7037

9. Paintsville .6946

10. Douglass .6818

11. Belfry .6377

12. Trinity .6326

 

GAME 1 - Pikeville vs. Bell/Paintsville winner.

GAME 2 - Mayfield vs CovCath/Frederick Douglass winner.

GAME 3 - Somerset vs Johnson Central/Belfry winner.

GAME 4 - Boyle vs Male/Trinity winner.

 

Game 1 winner vs Game 4 winner.

Game 2 winner vs Game 3 winner.

This is THAT year where Boyle County would have a good chance, if not win the whole thing. I haven't seen them in person, only on video, and talked to a college recruiter I know, and he said they have some really special kids on their roster. I'm not saying that Make or Trinity aren't great, but this could 've the year a lower than 6A team could win.

I hate this yearly debate. RPI means nothing across classes, and in 95% of the years the 6A Champ is far and away the best.

 

I agree but this is hypothetical based on RPI. Definitely a flaw in the RPI system overall.
