Hamilton will become a free agent. According to a source, #reds explored trading him and found no interested teams.

Hamilton was in his third and final year of arbitration. He made $4.6 million last year and put up a 0.3 bWAR.

Great move. He was expected to make around $6 million this season.

I liked Billy but it was time to move on. Can't have someone taking a lineup space, and forcing the pitcher to continually hit 8th, because they can't hit.

He would be a nice luxury for a contender as a 4th OF and super sub late in games. That’s his only role left in the MLB.

ERA probably goes up less than the runs scored by the offense does with an average hitting CF in the lineup. Probably a net gain for the team.
