8th Region Girls Basketball upcoming players

A lot of young teams in the 8th region this year. Who is the team to beat?

Simon Kenton will be the unanimous favorite I would think... followed by a large pack of teams.

Shelby

Trimble

Walton

All could claim #1 contender status by regional tournament time

Losing Bosse is alot for Simon. Region should be fun.

Trimble Co. is going to be a force, with only losing two seniors and 4 out of the 5 five starters are returning. This winter could be Coach Stewart's year.

Heard the SK will be getting a girl from the same district just a little ways down the road. Not sure if it is a done deal yet but if it happens I think that they would be the favorite in the 8th.

Williamstown is looking good in summer ball. They're in a tough district with SK and WV, but could break through to the regionals this year.

SK looks good for the 8th region, but imo, they need another big , or even 2 to go further than the region. Meire is going to be a great ballplayer, but her development has been slowed by injury. I don't see another big returning that will be an impact player.

It's a done deal. Confirmed by girls father and Coach Stowers. Shelby Harmeyer will be joining the Pioneers from Grant County. She can play and is a sophomore this year.

Shelby is a really good kid. Good luck to her at SK and IMO she puts them as the pre season favorite in the 8th.

Is Shelby a big by chance?

Guard / Forward combo. She is a nice player. Shelby is probably in the 5'8 to 5'9 range and I am guessing on that.
