Roy Neeley from Owen County had a interview. He coaches a NCKC 6th grade girls team from Owen County.

Kelly is very good with those girls.

I also think Simon Kenton has two really good young pitchers. (Sam/Macie) I see them as very good upcoming players. They see a lot of Varsity time.

Someone had told me that but I didn't know if it was true. They have another 8th grader that pitches and may just be their best pitcher. She is in the same position. I think he told them they would have their time later when they get to high school. Owen county has one of the best seniors around who can play some ball (Shelby Gambrell). I'm sure it makes it bad for her that it's her senior year and the coach isn't out to win. Anymore though if you don't play some sort of summer ball it's hard to go anywhere. School ball is a lot of times practice and getting a few bats in just for summer ball. Mine graduates this year but I will be around to watch some of these younger ones play. I was told that Bailey switched to a different summer team (NKY STEALERS) for this upcoming year that has a lot of talent and is considered the young 14-U. Next year if they stay together I was told they should dominate most of the tournaments they are playing in because that will put the a second year 14-U team. Looking to maybe catching a tourney or two just to watch them.

I have seen a few of these girls play over the past few summers. What I am shocked more shocked over is why isn't Owen County winning more games than what they are? Reason asking is because the Young girl plays for Owen County but does not start or play much varsity at all. If that is the case and Owen has 9 players that are better than she is. (They should be winning more games) This kid plays tough defense and can put the bat on the ball at any given time. We have played them and she was their JV catcher and batted top of line up, but was only a courtesy runner for Varsity. I have seen her catch a few times and does well, but I have watched her glove in the field and the kid knows how to play the game. Looking foward to seeing her in the upcoming years.

You guys must have been watching a different game.. from what I heard Owen still has some work to do...especially with pitching....

I think Owen only had one hit the whole game and it was from Zach McDonald..Heard the freshman didn't look to bad on the mound. How many errors did Owen Co. have? That was a big factor last year with their team..

Heard a few parents are upset with the offense from Owen County..Is it true that the only thing the run is pretty much quarter back keeper?

Good win for us..Owens offense didn't look much different than last years..Do know the coaches are trying to turn things around. Your kids have to be willing to do the same. Take it from me you can only tell them so much. At some point they have to start preforming. Talk to some of the guys and they worked very hard during the week.Said they worked on alot of things and a different team showed up on Friday. Good luck to them this week.

I think Owen will win their first game. They come over here the following week and I don't see them beating Gallatin. Henry will have a easy win over the Rebels.

Wildcats didn't look as good as I was wishing. Got a lot to work on, but they will be ok.....

Our prayers are with not only the family, but with his football family as well. Maybe this will touch a life of someone else. I have always been told everything happens for a reason. Nates friends and family just need to stick together and put everything in Gods hands.

Do they open up against Owen County?

I think that is a question that has been ask over there. He played football but don't really know how much actual knowledge is there. I think last year was his first year helping out. I know he didn't under Coach U. You do know that coach U is at Gallatin County now. Good move CATS....Thats another issue in itself..Owen got rid off Allnutt and Coach U resigned...Funny thing Owens football program isn't very good...Gallatin County is starting to get a real program and look whos helping out with the coaching...That all goes back to POOR ADMINISTRAION PROBLEMS IN OWEN COUNTY.....

I just heard from some of the players that he and the head coach didn't get along..They also told us that the head coach would tell them one thing and he would tell them he didn't have a clue as to what was going on and do it another way....That come from a couple players..That's not something to tell a player.If you have a problem with the head coach go to him not the players. That is so childish..They may have thought he would help get some numbers, but apparently that ain't it.....

Yea he was on the staff last year...From what I heard he is the one that always underminded the head coach with the kids. I don't think he and the head coach got along to well. Hope that doesn't happen this year....He use to play for Owen County.

Whos to say it has anything to do with the coaching staff from last year. Matt Blackburn is back so does that mean the numbers should be greater and their not??????
