Bald Eagles

Yesterday my brother and I spotted a bald eagle in Carroll Co. on the river.

A rare sighting for us. Has anyone else seen this one or any others?

There have been eagles near Higginsport, Ohio (on the river) for a while now. Haven't heard any recent updates, though.

I have only seen a wild bald eagle twice, both times in Florida. One was sitting on top of a Burger King, it was a weird sighting.

I have never seen one in the wild. I have heard of some sightings of an Eagle around the Cave Run lake area close to Morehead. I also heard one man in Greenup, Ky. say that he had seen a couple near the Ohio /little Sandy rivers around Greenup..

I saw the one at Cave Run fly off its nest one time that we were on the lake. It was a pretty cool sight! They roped off an area to where nobody could get anywhere near the nest.

We were up in Ontario a couple of years ago. My favorite fishing spot was at the eagles nest. 2 adults with at least 2 young. Really awesome to watch.

That's where we saw them. In the Boundary Waters.

I saw one flying over Cave Run while crossing the dam. Awesome sight.

One was sited in Frankfort near Jim's seafood on the Ky River.

They just showed a couple on the local news here in NKY. A lady up in Metamora, IN (which isn't too far away) has spoted 4 different ones in the area. She sent in a couple pics, one showing two standing over a dead dear.

I saw one about a year ago flying along the Ohio river in Greenup Co. I've also heard of a couple of sightings this year around the same place.

Years ago there was a nest in the river bottoms in Henderson Co. I don't know if they are still there or not. The next was only about 50 yards off of a gravel road. During the winter you could drive back to where the nest was an see 3-4 of them in the trees in the area. I only saw an adult once but saw the young eagles many times. The nest looked big enough to park a car in.

There are many at Laural Lake in Whitley Co.

Where in Carroll Co? I live one mile from the Carroll-Trimble line and have seen some near my house.

Also, we have a whole family down on the river in Bedford near the LG&E plant. I just received an email with photos of them during the blizzard. If I could figure out how to post them here, I would! Truly beautiful!
