Bobby Axelrod
Former Mercer County standout Will Hager is transferring to Centre College. I think Hager will be a great fit in Centre's system and will get a great education on the way. @Centre_Bball Adds Local Division II Transfer to
Wireman
Hager will lead Centre to championships. Big get for my man Coach Mason.
gchs_uk9
Did Hager play for Centre this year? I went over for some of their conference tournament this weekend and noticed he wasn't on the roster. @PurplePride92
Wireman
No, he played at Rupp Arena then quit the team. Centre was really in a tough spot early in the season.

I must have completely missed that. Is he still in school at Centre? Somewhere else? Plans to play basketball?

Tough finish losing to Berry (who ended up winning the tournament) but I suspect Centre will be very good next year.

Wireman
Centre started the season 5-6. They rebounded to finished 17-8 overall and win the regular season conference championship. Mason was named league coach of the year for the turn around. From my understanding, Hager pretty much just decided he was done with basketball and quit. Wireman
8th seeded Berry won the tournament. They played 7th seeded Hendrix in the championship game. Pretty much the craziest outcome possible.
sportsmaniac
When you have been the best player at your school for 4 or 5 years and then go to college and you are not the best it is hard to deal with it. You have to work as hard as you always did and may not reap the benefits of playing time. Some kids just decide it’s not worth it. Great kid. Good luck to him!
