This job seems like a gold mine and a real up and coming program (Thanks to Coach Hart's efforts!). Are there any assistant coaches within looking to move up or will they search for someone from the outside.

The center is a funny position. Most fans would never notice a center. Especially one who is doing a good job. But, when you have one that struggles he will stick out like a sore thumb! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Great win for the North Bullitt program. This win will be a huge "mental hurdle" for the players and community. Have to give credit where credit is due. The Eagles played Central (which is who they play this Friday night) as close as anyone with the exception of Waggener. I like their chances in a second game with the Yellowjackets! This school now has possession of the district basketball crown and the "County Cup" in football. They really have made some progress in the past few years. Great job EAGLES! Best of luck this week!

I can tell you that there wouldn't be a high school coach in KY that would not say "TURF!" tonight. I just don't see how you can beat the new sports turf!! GREAT stuff!

I read in a thread earlier in the week that the St. X game against Butler might be moved due the the condition of the surface at Manual stadium. Did the game end up getting moved?

Bullitt East has improved each week and are clicking in all cylindars. I think their physical play, excellent play on special teams, and ability to operate gives them the win. I'll say East 35-14.

The thing that has helped and brought success to Tony's clients is the fact that they are not just throwing the ball. He provides install plans that are methodical, drill tapes, coaching tapes, and follows up with these staffs. If a staff is willing to commit to and stick with a spread system I have not seen a better way to implement it.

I also do not have a dog in this fight. The point that I would like to make is this. Coach Smith and Coach Pardue's tenures are not and cannot be compared as apples and apples. Coach Smith took over a program where there was absolutely NOWHERE to go but up. His task was to "build" the program and gain a higher level of respect and to become competitive. Which we all know he did that and MUCH, MUCH more. Obviously, I don't need to re-tell that story. Coach Pardue took over a program coming off 6 straight appearances to the State Finals. His job was to try to continue and maintain that unparralleled run and keep the bar at that extremely high level. That's pretty tough business for any man, no matter what his background and experience. Last season, Coach Pardue had to change. The role of a Head Coach is completly different from the role of an OC. IMHO, Coach Pardue accepted the toughest situation any first time head coach can step into. The only way for him to have been "deemed successful" would be to make the trip to Louisville last December and again this year. I promise there has not been a new head coach in the entire state who have began their posts with that type of pressure. One might argue, and this sounds very negative, but it is almost as if there was no where for him to go but down. My two cents: Let the man have time to do his thing. Maybe in the end he will not be the right "fit" for Boyle County, BUT it might just work out! Support those kids, support those coaches, and enjoy each day. Win or Lose this will be the most memorable time in their lives. Best of luck to the Rebels!

Sell Central. They won't beat 2 of the following: Bullitt East, North Bullitt, Valley, or Waggener a second time. Which they will have to do under this year's playoff format. Buy Franklin County I think they are ready and their "almost" showing against Lex Cath, might just be the boost of confidence they need.

I would offer this head coach some advice, **In this business, you have to "Circle the Wagons and say To HECK with the rest!!". This is a biproduct of the college and NFL hiring and firing circus that is now the norm. Unfortunately, it has trickled down to to the high school level. When a guy gets a loss or two it time for a change and everyone seems to have the right answer. I would also add that some of these schools who have large hiring committees with kids and parents involved, open the door for things like this. Since this letter is anonomious, I would trash it, move on, and stay the course. It seems that every outsider and fan thinks that they know when the trigger should be pulled on a head coach's job. Every high school in the nation has a stand full of head coaches and offensive coordinators. However, they are not around during the off-season, cleaning the locker rooms, striping fields, mowing grass, washing uniforms, doing work on Saturday or Sunday, etc.

Meade County is a TOUGH place to play. With both of the teams results to date, it is really hard to call. Don't know if it can be deemed an upset, but I will say Greenwave 28 - Dawgs 24.

Much more of a multiple spread than Wing T. They have gone back to vanilla Wing T this year with their young QB.

I just don't see a Wing T team beating Male or X. If PRP wins, it will be by throwing, and that could be tough business with their QB out. Best of luck to the Panthers. **PRP and Male had some VERY close games pre-Wolfe. Don't forget that Coach Leasor gave the Dawgs a close one a time or two. PRP is a great place and program period.

Got to see this game (Waggener vs. J-Town) on ICN Channel 2. J-Town is greatly improved and for the first time this season helped themselves tremendously by not turning the ball over. Defensively, Waggener looks to be much quicker and aggressive than they were last year, but really struggled to stop J-Town when they ran right at them, primarily from the Power-I. That could spell trouble against Central and Bullitt East. Offensively, they were very inconsistent and hurt themselves over and over. They have a brutal three week stretch coming up. Fairdale, Central, and Bullitt East. It will be a big mental and physical test for them. :banana: It is awesome to see Valley return to the spotlight. Coach Deskins and his staff are doing a fine job and stayed the course over the past couple of years. It is great to see coaches in Jefferson County have success like this. You have to keep in mind that not all Jefferson County Public Schools enjoy the same things as some others and do the best with what they have. Keep it up Vikings!! This district could play out 6 or 7 different ways. Teams are going to need to stay healthy and have NO slip up nights (Just as North Bullitt and Waggener have done in the past two weeks). In addition to Central, Bullitt East, Valley, North Bullitt, and Waggener do not forget Doss. They are currently 2-0 in district play. With this 9 team district, it appears that there will be a pretty darn good team or two on the outside looking in come playoff time.

Don't they face X, Male, Manual, Butler over 4 consecutive weeks? When does that stretch begin??

Rebel K, Are they putting down Field Turf or replacing with a new natural/Bermuda surface? If my memory is correct, they had a pretty good Bermuda field already???

Bullitt East and Central have a key district matchup this Friday night in Mt. Washington. This game will be a large factor in how this district shakes out and the next AAA top 10. Central seems to be the early favorite with their huge win over Shelby Co. They did lose a key player last week in Hughley, with a broken arm. Best of luck to to both teams.

For those who saw this game: Can Seneca compete with Oldham, Ballard, Shelby, Southern, and Fern Creek and earn a playoff spot? I know that they have started 0-3, but the early word on them was that they would be greatly improved. I would think that Ballard and Shelby would fight for the #2 and #3 spot and the #4 spot is wide open.

Wow. I would have to see that to believe it!! I am used to them using all of their timeouts, kicking onside kicks, and faking punts . . . Of course, in preparation for the playoffs.:sssh:

Bullitt has to do a bit more than whip Bullitt Central to "right the ship". The test is in next week's game vs. Central. Bullitt East rolls as they should.

Who is the new Head Freshmen Coach at St. Xavier? I know that Jamie Brown was promoted up the Varsity O-Line. Did this change have any impact on the organization and preparedness??
