Bullitt East - North Bullitt

Featured Replies

37-20 East, Cissell under 100 yards.

So I'm clear:

Central will probably finish #1 with a district record of 8-0 (assuming they avoid the Doss upset)

Doss then is 5-3 in the district

Valley beats Waggener and is 6-2

If Bullitt East beats North B. than they're 6-2, and would get the #2 seed by virtue of beating Valley?

North Bulllitt, if they lose, are 4-4 and out...right?

However, if North wins than they're 5-3, and Bullitt East is 5-3 (with Doss). Then Valley would get the 2 seed, but what happens with North, Bullitt East and Doss for the 3 and 4 seed (and eliminated team)?

Again, I firmly expect Bullitt East to win and claim the #2 seed and host Valley for the hot rematch next week setting up Central v. Doss at Central two weeks in a row. However, the possibilities in this district are fun to look at.

Bullitt East has improved each week and are clicking in all cylindars. I think their physical play, excellent play on special teams, and ability to operate gives them the win.

I'll say East 35-14.

The only game Cissell has had under 100 was Louisville Central. He rushed for 74 in that one only playing about 1/2 or so of the game because of injury. His next lowest game was like 167 yards. Very doubtful that East could keep him under 100. More like 150 yards in a 30-14 North win.

If there is a 3 way tie with NB, BE, and Doss. North would be the 3 seed, BE would be the 4 seed. Doss would be out, they lose the tiebreakers. If North loses they are out.

Cissel had 67 yards against us last year and Raleigh who runs exactly the same as Cissel had 40 against us last week.

Bullitt East 30-21.

Not sure how that works since all would be 1-1 against each other

If you think Cissell is not clearly better than a year ago and clearly better than Raleigh, I would have serious questions about your knowledge of any matter related to football.

Well they are the same age ... they are the same type of runner, both can break arm tackles Cissell might be slightly better but they both racked up a ton of yards against everyone but Central and BE.

With 8 straight victories in the series I can't see anything that is going to change. We both had a better team last year. Yours was considerably better and you had every single thing working in your favor last year and still lost.

Give me any reason at all that things are going to be different this year? Any logical reason?

Raleigh is not nearly as fast as Cissell. Cissell has 850 more yards (1880 to 1031) on roughly the same number of carries playing nearly the same opponents. North is as good if not better than last season. Last season they won a couple they could have lost, this year they lost a couple they could have won. The main difference this year is North doesn't have Scroggin at receiver that caught everything that was thrown in his direction and couldn't be covered by 4 or 5 East defenders when everyone at the game knew he was going to be getting the ball. North is bigger and stronger than last year, East is not. North has 8 defensive starters back from a team that held Rakes to 77 yards rushing. East does not have any back that compares in the slightest to Rakes. East does not have the receivers to throw to which is why Broughton has thrown for about 1/3 of the yardage he put up last year.

Last year, East averaged 435 yards per game, this year 277 yards per game. Last year North averaged 310 yards per game, this year 350 yards per game.

Last year East avg. 44 points per game, this year 34.

Last year North avg. 27 points per game, this year 31.

Dalton Cissell rushing this year 1,880 yds -- Bullitt East team rushing 1,772 yd

The difference will be Reynolds at QB now, making it hard to concentrate everything on stopping Cissell.

Cissell is only one "average" game away from rushing in 10 games for what Rakes rushed for in 14 last year.

Should I go on or do you get the point.

In a 3 way tie, you count the number of wins from the teams your team defeated, minus the one's against the schools your tied with. So Doss, could count the wins from all the teams they've defeated except North Bullitt.

I think it will be interesting to see this matchup. Teams haven't had much success running on BE. Teams that can throw have had some success. North is a poor passing team, but they run well. It will be strength on strength. North has rushed for 2489 yards (276.6 ypg). While the BE defense has only allowed 797 yards rushing (88.6 ypg). I wouldn't be surprised to see a score similar to the game on Monday.

Let's not forget, Rakes wasn't a one man show last year like Dalton is for North this year.

You would be correct. However, now that North has put Reynolds at QB they are at least a solid 2-man show. Reynolds has rushed, passed &/or received for 14 TD's this year.
