It appears that the holdup IS teaching positions or lack thereof. The good and bad with a head coaching search at this time of the year is getting someone and allowing them to get to work ASAP with offseason, spring ball, hiring new asst's, etc. However, school systems haven't yet done "intent sheets" or student scheduling for next school year. This is way that schools begin to see which teaching jobs might open due to retirement, advancement, transfers, increases in enrollment, etc. Nelson does not have a provision like some school districts that can "bump" teachers to make a spot for a new head coach.
