  1. For the last couple of years its been kinda like a hockey game in that aspect. Pay to watch a fight and a football game may breakout.
  2. I'd just assume play Cabell Midland. They can keep their uppety butts up U.S. 23 for all I'm concerned.
  3. Maybe I am being geographically biased, but Vandy is just as highly regarded as Stanford, imo. I stress, in my opinion, because when you look at how close it is to home for a kid in Somerset that has to weight out somewhat. Vandy is a top notch East Coast school, and Stanford is a LONG, LONG way from home, With that being said, UK is great, and I'd love to see an instate kid represent the BLUE.
  4. Cover 2...Put pressure on an inexperienced QB within the Cover 2. This kid is the real deal, but with a young QB having Cole at WR could be a difficult situation for the Jumpers. Ross Deaton was a great QB, overshadowed by Cole's production. But WR/QBs go hand-in-hand, and unless Somerset has someone in the grooming to replace Deatonour friend John Cole may have an less than par year. All that said, he is more than likely the best athlete/football player in EKY.
  5. Personally, I think it is a very weak year in the state if KY for football. Best and brightest recruits are linenman, which means that there shouldn't really be a glamorous Mr. Football, but being in a good location for the media and having a solid year will get a skill position player the award. Or a EKY/WKY kid like Grimm who puts up unrealistic numbers could win the award.
  6. First, the field looks great and I am happy the people of JC have something like this to be proud of. Secondly, the intial costs of a field like this is high, but over a period of about 7 years the costs are made up because maintenence is greatly reduced. Financially, a school board could take a loan over a 10 year period to pay the initial costs, and still come out better than you would have a natural grass field. But I'm sure local businesses donated all they could to make this happen in Johnson County.
  7. Best of luck to you guys, JD.
  8. Coleman is #3.
  9. ^He'll definitely have a much better year. His hand injury limited his effectiveness last year and he still had a nice sophomore season.
  10. I could be wrong, but I think a lot of different guys could see action in the backfield this year. Dustin May is the one I see being in the mix no matter what. You could see him at FB with Hickman and Heath or Thomas Varney at HB. You could see May at HB with either Charlie Dotson or Ivan Lee at FB. Ryan Preston is another that may be looked upon from the RB position along with Timmy Lovern.
  11. Belfry will not have as much speed as they've had in the past, but the runners will be a load to bring down.
  12. I don't think the transfer rumor is true, and I do think that May could possibly be moved to HB this year.
  13. Elkhorn City - Todd "Hef" Conley Allen Central - Jeremy Hall Paintsville - J.R. VanHoose Pike Central - Jamie Hamilton Belfry - J.J. Hylton Wayland - King Kelly Coleman Flat Gap -Charlie Osbourne Phelps - Ervin Stepp
  14. ^Two years removed from back-to-back AA State Titles and still someone wants to poke fun.
  15. Anybody with video? I'll be glad to pay postage and cost of the tape, etc. Congrats to the bluegrass!!!
  16. I've seen him play at least once over the last three years and his game has evolved each time. He's a real nice player, and he kind of reminds me of a young Steve Novak.
  17. Nor on mine. The question is as legit as any other question, and I was NOT trying to raise a stink. I really just wanted to know what the folks at Pikeville thought about his application to another school so soon into his tenure. But thanks for giving it its own thread, Toots. Now it really looks like I was just picking a fight.
  18. What happened to the Anderson County siging of Cobb, and even more importantly in Pike Co., how will the Pikeville alumni respond to Coach Jackson looking to move out so quickly. Personally, I understand his ambitions, but Pikeville is a hard crowd to please. With them, it's almost like Coach J made a make or break decision in applying for the Hendo job. Will that be the case? I have no doubt that he has continued the progress in Pikeville, and he has a great group of skill players coming back. But will there be any dissention within the Pikeville city limits?
  19. He was one of the few BGPers here before me...and yes, it will be awkward here without him. May God bless his soul, and I will surely miss his insight on a many of things. R.I.P. LSURock
  20. Is there a webste to check the results of the camp?
  21. I've been to the last 4 games held in KY, but this year I can't make it. I hope someone on this board can do me quite a bit of a favor. I promised my daughters I'd take them and my niece & nephew to Camden Park this weekend before I really thought about it coinciding with the game. I don't like to break promises, so if anyone knows how to get me a copy of this game I'd very much appreciate it. And I will defintiely reimburse you for the trouble.
  22. 1. Tennessee 2. No 3. Petrino 4. Beaumont 5. Beaumont Tie Breaker: 62
  23. They could just apologize to Jeff Jackson and ask him if he'd want to return.
  24. Whose head did you have to cut off to get that?:sssh:
  25. ^The middle school coaches are all Belfry grads who played under Coach Haywood, too.
