I hope it is a continuous rivlary between two of the top teams in our part of the state. It can only help us both.:thumb: Would like to see it at around game 7...so injured or banged up players can heel for playoffs.

If I only had one post to comment about this game, defense and O-Line play is what I would stress. Phenomenal...for lack of better words.

Could be very harmful to the Pirates title drive. I'd go as far as to say he (Elkins) is the single most important factor in the effort to gaining another state title, and I feel very strongly about that.

I'm going to make a few comments based on what previous posters have already said and I'm trying to make them in order of importance but bear with me.

Anyway that score is flipped is about how I see it, too. I don't think either team will be shutout, but I doubt either team will score more than 28 points.

That was the first I had heard of it...I was curious for a couple different reasons.

I'm undecided...NCC, Danville, or Corbin. I'll be rooting for Corbin because of the mountain ties.

Quit kidding yourself and all of the other posters on here. Johnson Central is heading in the right direction, but neither JC or Belfry have played football at the level Ironton has the last 20 years. Belfry's state championship teams were beaten by Ironton, and Belfry's state title teams were better than this year's Johnson Central team, IMO.

I hope it does have a playoff atmosphere, but if either team holds back a little I can say that I understand why. Both of these coaches & teams have bigger season long goals. If this game were game 4 or 5 of the regular season I would expect more of a "put it all on the line type of game" because you have time to recover from possible injuries. But with it being game 10, and especially with Belfry's May & Dotson only being semi-healthy, I don't expect to see Coach Haywood risk injury for victory. I could be wrong, and this game may turn out to be as intense a game as I get to see this year. I hope so because I value the money I paid for the ticket, but I'm not really sure what to expect.

To the game...As it turns out, this is the first time of the season we can get an accurate measure on how good this Pirate team is. Johnson Central whipped the other 3A favorite (Louisville Central), and are without a doubt the toughest team on our schedule. But there are some negatives to this game being the 10th game of the year, and we might see the effects of this during the game. First, this game means nothing to neither team with regard to their goals of being state champions. No playoff implications, nor playoff seeding can be gain or lost by the outcome of this game. So how much action will Shawn Grimm, Dustin May, Ivan Lee, J.K. Ratliff, etc., see during the course of game 10??
