  1. I have to agree with you on the over-hyping of Paintsville. They are a decent ballteam, no more and no less.
  2. Is Allan Hatcher still the coach at Graves Co.?
  3. Congrats to a very good football player. Best wishes and good luck in the future.:thumb:
  4. Both teams advance to the 15th Region Tourney. Congrats to each of you.
  5. ^My bad for venting....I had a long day.
  6. I love it for all of those reasons...but mainly because those things that were taught to me by father were echoed by those who coached me in high school. I'd like to think that my life lessons were taugt to me by good, God fearing men, and everything I was taught since I was a young child was reinforced by those who taught me in high school. I couldn't ask for better role-models in my high school days. I live my life by those values and I only hope I can teach my children the same moral values I was taught by my elders. Even if I am one of the few, my children will be repsectful of others and do unto those that do unto them. And if they like me after all is said and done, that's great, but if they don't, they will respect me.
  7. Where's the D, the blocking out, the constant motion of a high school offense???? Great individual preformances by Mayo and Fisher of St. P, but not very entertaining to watch.
  8. I didn't realize he was that strong. What were some of his numbers?
  9. Belfry @ Pike Central will be determined.
  10. Where are all of those people who said Paintsville's '96 State Title team couldn't beat HHS? Congrats to Scott Co. and Coach Hicks!!!
  11. Pikeville has never won 4 in a row against the Pirates. 1992 Belfry won 34-14 1993 Belfry won 26-6 1994 Pikeville won 36-18 1995 Belfry won 7-6 1996 Belfry won 26-20 in OT 1997 Belfry won 42-6 1998 Pikeville won 35-19 1999 Pikeville won 26-8 2000 Pikeville won 31-14 2001 Belfry won 21-0 2002 Belfry won 20-13 2003 Belfry won 28-6 2004 Belfry won 30-0 2005 Belfry won 36-13 2006 Belfry won 24-20 I'm not sure of the exact score on those in italics, but it was in that neighborhood.
  12. Could someone tell me again where Coach Coombs went?
  13. That's flat-out ridiculous and will remind myself of schools doing this to kids the next time a kid changes his verbal comittment.
  14. I'm glad to hear JD, LMHS, and gametime post on this matter. Thanks...can we close the thread now?
  15. That's why I said "stereotypical". This guy played on the stereotypical view of Eastern Kentuckians, and I stated he portrayed an Eastern Kentuckians' stereotypical view of "non-hillbillies". I hope that makes sense. I have many close friends in that part of the state and my view of people in this area is that we are the same, but our accents, dialect, and economy are somewhat different. Like Toots said, there are bad apples amongst us all, and this guy is a one of them in my opinion. I'd still like to hear more about the lockerrooms being trashed. I've never in my life heard of a Belfry team doing that anywhere, let alone a place where I know myself and many others were treated with such great hospitality. BTW...Nice post Watusi.
  16. Let me answer by the numbers: 1. Possible, but Belfry travels heavy and if some did set in Lloyd's section, so be it. They paid money to get through the gate and it was far from packed on that side anyway. 2. Referring to all Belfry fans or one in particular? I think this one is stereotyping at it's best. 3. He may have saw someone chewing tobacco, but I seriously doubt that it was spit at a Lloyd fan or their seats. 4. Not that I condone it, but I don't think I've ever been to a game anywhere that one school's student-fans didn't heckle the opposing team at some point. But honestly, I'm not being biased, Belfry fans usually aren't that bad for doing that. 5. The entire field was torn up because of the weather. Did the caller expect Belfry to wear basketball shoes? 6. Have no idea about the lockerroom, but I guarantee you could tell a football team was there. 7. My private messages are open to anyone...I'm kind of curious.
  17. I think it's a stereotypical Greater Cincinnati jerk living up to the billing by trying to portray Belfry fans as stereotypical hillbillies. But hey, at least someone listening to the radio station has at least heard of Belfry now. By the way...I was at the game, saw no disrespect shown by the players or coaches, although I never entered the locker-room. I really don't know what to say. Maybe JohnDunhoft can explain if any of these rumors, and they are rumors, have any validity. I would think that if Belfry was forced to give up their part of the gate I would know about it. Also, why would anyone in the "greater Cincinnati area" be having any kind of conversation including Belfry this time of year? And where is Watusi? Final score State-Semifinals 2003: Belfry 21 - Lloyd 13;)
  18. My post was not intended to take a shot at Rose Hill or the Eutons for recruiting or being recruited. Honestly, I could care less.
  19. That has happened with other kids who had parents with similar athletic/educational positions and it wouldn't surprise me if some schools, such as those that are private, made this kind of offer. It's just the nature of the beast.
  20. I'm not suggesting anything at all. I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me if something like that happened. No more, no less.
  21. I wouldn't be surprised to see a big-time school offer his mother the AD job just so Euton plays ball there. Whether or not this happens in high school or college is the question.
  22. The Williamson Fieldhouse is as good a place to watch basketball as you can find. It is old, but imagine what it meant to play in this place must have been like during the early 70s. It's still my favorite place to watch a basketball game.
