I'm expecting Bellevue to roll on toward their rematch with Beechwood.

I know that Owen got off to a good start this year, for a change. After their loss to Henry County, I have not heard how the Rebels have faired for the remainder of their season. Holy Cross had Beechwood in serious trouble, but could not secure the win. I would love to see Owen's program get over the hump with a playoff win, but its going to be a tall order against the talented Indians of Holy Cross. Good luck to all.

I agree with those who catagorize Dixie as underachieving. In spite of playing a tough schedule, I expected more out of them this year. Ashland is flighing high and it is fitting for them to host this round in historic Gilliam Stadium. I still believe that the Colonels are capable of putting together a little streak in the playoffs. The Tomcats are facing in Dixie, one of their toughest opponents so far. Good luck to both. Slight edge to Ashland because of thier strong defense.

Nice come-back by the Tigers, who come up short on their final drive. I think a lot of folks expected this to be a close one. Congrat Breds.

This one goes right down to the wire with a slight edge to NewCath. Along with Bellevue - Lloyd, Dixie - Boone, & Highlands - Ryle, here are a hand full of great match-ups that are meaningless except for school pride and entertaining fans of high school football.

Pulling for the Cats, but thinking the Jags will take it. Cooper made their game with Campbell County interesting, which I view as a much stronger opponent than Newport. Maybe Newport can hang around, make this one go down to the wire, and have a chance to win.

I think this pretty much sums it up. Highland's defense will be the primary difference. Also, look for AC to distinguish himself, again. Has Wooten Field ever sold-out for this rivalry?

I'm pulling for the Green Devils to let out some frustration and get the win.

The Camels get a win in their 6A District, but Cooper will gain a lot of confidence in this one. Winning in 6A is only a season or two away for the Jags.

I'm picking the Indians by 14.

Open enrollment and CovCath seam to take quite a toll on Scott Football. Realignment to 4A and facility upgrades may bring about a turning point. Another program that struggles to compete is Campbell County. When Shaun Alexander was at Boone, Campbell had a great team, but Boone rode on Shaun's back to win a very close play-off battle. That has been some time ago, and Campbell has not risen to that level since. If I'm not mistaken, at 1300 +, Campbell is the largest HS in NKY.

There is too much pride surrounding Dayton Football to allow the program to slip into oblivion. Small school programs experince greater swings in performance, but where there is a foundation and tradition, they will work hard to cycle back around for success seasons. In Campbell County, the addition of Bishop Brossart to the 1A mix will enhance the experince for us fans.

I'm expecting a football game, not a cake walk. Colonels will put up enough fight to make one think that the rematch could be interesting.

Not implying that they will be able to run thier offence effectively against the Bluebirds, just acknowledging the value of an eight TD performance under game conditions in terms of preparation.

This result really flips my wig. Both programs are very young, but my perception was that WV was well ahead of BB. Outstanding victory for the Mustangs.

Absolutely congrats to SK. They look to have a good shot at making it back to the finals. A 6A champ in NKY would be awsome and this might be the year. Interestingly, Ryle gets a rematch with HHS & may possibly get one with SK too. Good luck Raiders, you've got to get back on track vs Conner next week. While not many people picked HHS beating St. X, after it happened, who besides true Bomber fans picked St. X to beat Elder? Anything can happen.

Indeed a huge win for JC. The Tomcats had been rolling and Johnson had been improving. Obviously two evenly matched teams.
