Cooper wins this one.

IMO Newport will come out ahead in this one. Newport has been struggling but also showing signs of improvement as the season has progressed. Newport has a good size line that needs to be more solid in their play. With the addition of Watson it has given the Cats a more aggressive running back. Short made his return against HC and has proven that he is back. Newport IMO is an improved team with Short and Watson and will come out on top in this one.

Cooper still has a ways to go to compete in the district but apparently they are much improved from '08. I think this game could go either way but Newport hasn't exactly been on fire as of late.

Pulling for the Cats, but thinking the Jags will take it. Cooper made their game with Campbell County interesting, which I view as a much stronger opponent than Newport. Maybe Newport can hang around, make this one go down to the wire, and have a chance to win.

The one positive that I can see from a distance is that Cooper, for the past 5 weeks, has been banging around with those HUGE 6A teams. Not a knock on Newport by any means, because I think they have a talented team, but it is nice to see Cooper playing against someone that is not bigger and deeper than the Jags. No prediction from me, just can't wait for Friday night and Senior night for Cooper!!!

This game could go ether way if you ask me. I think Newport will rest some starters to get ready for the playoffs. Short will bring back some senior leadership to the team. I thing the Wildcats pull out a win and go into the playoffs with some momentum.
