Will be interesting to see how tall Nick gets by Jr/Sr years. If he grows the same amount as his dad, that would put him about 7'3". His dad, a very late grower. Obviously they're on different growth patterns, but 6'9"+ is not out of the realm. With his athletic ability and speed, that would be something to see.

Colonels have a LOT of interesting parts Grades 9 thru 12. The assembly will be interesting & fun to watch. My biggest questions . . Can 2 of these 3 provide a lot of boards & minutes (Zig, Heppler, Walter)? Is young Ruthsatz ready to be a factor on Varsity level, or still a year away? Replacing Schu will be difficult. N.Thelen may be a similar player, but only a Frosh.

I concur. As a parent of a former O-lineman, this did bother me. That's why I sat with other O-line parents, or more commonly away from all parents.

This Colonel fan misses his playing days too. Enjoyed watching him play D as a Colonel & grade school years prior. Boy had hops!

In this era of declining football participation, I would imagine there will be more "froshmore" games in years to come. I'm all for it. Whatever it takes for kids to keep up their competitive juices. Nothing worse than putting in the practice time (summers especially) & not being rewarded with a full schedule. While wins & losses are always a short-term concern, the big picture (4 yr. HS careers and Varsity programs) must be facilitated.

Last name article lists is Dean Wells. I believe he was likely most successful out of this group. Pretty sure he played quite a few years in NFL (Seahawks) as D-Line or LB, not Offensive Line as recruited. I remember Al Baker coming to campus when there in 1980's; lot of hopes he was the next Herschell Walker. Good player, obviously never reached Herschel level. We had some solid in state RBs back then . . . Higgs, Logan, Baker, etc

Recently looked at CovCath website picture of their Frosh team. I might be mistaken, but looks like their numbers are down?

I'm thinking tight game until 4th, then Sycamore run game leads to a 2-score margin. 34-21. Colonels young offense will eventually start shining in crunch time, not sure if its in the cards yet for week #3 . More likely down the road.

Looked at AJ's stats earlier this morning, 16 of 32 for 235+/- yards. 2 TDS, 0 Ints Got to like the upside for young Mr. Mayer.

I disagree. 2014 had (3) of the most dynamic players to ever lace em up in Park Hills. 1-Nick Ruthsatz (schools leading scorer, Winner), 2-CVH (soon to be schools leading scorer, best frosh school history, Baller) 3- Bo Schuh - I believe doesn't get enough credit for his contributions. All you Colonel fans, think back on how many athletic 6'6" wing players we have had. Yeah we had some inside posts guys, but no one his size matches up with his abilities in the open floor when it came to press D & breaking the press D. Also, known fact, Colonel Crazies were at all time best in 2014. Final point - Coach R.

What if Colonels don't give up 8 point, 4th qtr lead to O-boro in semis this year . . . Looking at back-to-back state titles?

I've liked quite a few of guys on D in their younger years. Stay healthy & defense makes great improvement. I'm not as up on the Offensive side, but hopefully new coach/system makes the O more efficient. Looking forward to seeing #35 & #43 playing together on D

Coached a few eventual State Champ boys there a few years back. Agree some years better than ever, but Kevin does great job.

As someone who moved a few times as a school aged kid due to father being transferred, I wouldn't consider it being dragged. Granted, it was never easy, especially as got older, but I always had great experiences in the new locale. The one year my father commuted & we only saw him 2-3 weekends per month was much more difficult on the family unit. If young Mr.Bezold should have to move & play ball somewhere else, I'm betting it will make him a stronger individual in the long run. Family first!

As someone who never much liked the old logo, especially the inclusion of the color red, I like the new look. The all BLUE look & CROSS are more reflective of what CCH is based on. Although, I think the new logo may pay homage to my GPA senior year in Park Hills . . . C+
