Adopted Purple

Monroe County will play Bowling Green in 2016 Raffertys Bowl. Bowling Green will play John Hardin in the 2017 Raffertys Bowl. South Warren should call Coach Wallace and try to schedule them. He would say "when you grow up a little, son".

I like both teams, but have not seen John Hardin in person. Graves County's defense can play with anybody. It's their offense that I'm not sure of. Hardest hitting team I've seen in years. I have to go with Graves County 14-7.

The Purples looked like a deer in headlights. It was the worst case of Murphy's Law I've ever seen. Graves County played a great game and the Purples Defense played well. It was the offense that lost the game. Purples QB, Campbell Gott, had his worst night as a Purple. Two or three interceptions, twenty bad passes (at least), a fumble and so many bad decisions that it was (almost) comical. Graves County's defense had a lot to do with it, but it was mainly self inflected. There were at least 10 dropped passes. Penalties galore. Cody Crider is a better defensive end than he is a running back. Graves County was definitely the better team tonight. I believe the Hopkinsville team we just beat 50-0 last week would have beaten the Purples tonight. You can't win them all, but the boys sure won their share of them. Next years team will have a great nucleus to start another run at the title.

Williamsburg will get the opportunity to lose to Mayfield, again, in the finals.

Yeah, Damon was pretty good. I saw him at a Greenwood reunion a few years back. He looked like he could still run for a hundred on Bowling Green. He was fun to watch.

I think you will, Hoss. Also, I am already looking forward to the 2017 Raffertys Bowl. John Hardin vs Bowling Green. Both teams should be ranked #1 in their respective classes. It will be a dogfight! No pun intended.

The 1990 and 1995 teams had very good defenses. The 2011 team started a little slow but by the end of the season, they were lights out. The 1995 team and the 2011 team won state titles, but for my money it was the 2011 team. They played a tougher schedule. IMO.

I have only missed 5 Bowling Green games in the last 25 years and the 2011 defensive unit was the best we have ever had! Period! This years defensive unit is very good, but not the best. I do think they are better than last years team. No one in 5A will beat the Purples this year. It's the weakest I can remember seeing. I believe Crider played in last years 49-10 loss at home to the Purples. I don't think he or the Graves County team has improved enough to beat the Purples at home this year. As always, John Hardin is 5A's only hope and I don't see it happening this year. They will be a force to reckon with the next few years.

I'll take Cooper in a close one. I have rooted for them since my Purples played them in the finals in 2012. With a great bunch of kids and fans like Hellbird, who always pulls for my Purples, how can it not be a 1st class program.

They've been talking crap since they opened the doors in 1991 and they still haven't beaten the Purples. That's really sad. I should feel sorrow and pity, but...

That game was over in the 1st quarter. I even felt sorry for John Hardin. Murphy's law was everywhere. They were much better than they showed that game.

The 2011 team is considered the best Bowling Green team ever.

I think last weeks game against Greenwood was their worst game of the year. Too many turnovers. Greenwood has never beaten Bowling Green since they opened the doors in 1991. We get their best game every year. Also, their head coach, Chris Seabolt was on Bowling Green's staff, when he took the Greenwood job. He's pretty familure with the Purples program. Familiarity didn't help Feggins tonight against Highlands, but I think it helped in Greenwood's case. Tonight's game was played in a mud bowl. Is it against the law to cover the field with a tarp in Pulaski County? I got there an hour before the game and it looked like they had just ran the hogs off the field. No wonder they moved the ESPN game to Madison Central! The game was never in doubt. Bowling Green dominated defensively and had to play conservatively on offense, because of the field conditions. Pulaski County has a very good defense and it kept them in the game. Their offense fell apart after Gregory went out. They basically lined up in the Wildcat and gave it to their big linebacker and ran it right at the Purples defense. It would have been ugly, if it was played on a dry field. There's my take on the last two games. I think this Purple team will be just fine, but thanks for asking.

The only team with a shot at beating the Purples would be Southwestern. They just shut out Pulaski County and we have no idea what they have. Teams like Southwestern scare me. They look like they are playing their best ball at the right time. I think Bowling Green's team speed is better than anyone in 5A and they expect to win. Can't teach that.

Harris will win it, even if he doesn't play another down! The #1 running back in the nation will be too hard to pass up for the voters. The only way Sindelair gets it is by winning the 2A championship and I don't see that happening. Most of the state doesn't even know where Caldwell County is located. It's way way over in Western Kentucky. Harris is a household name to the voters of Mr. Football.

Can anyone (Dragonfire) tell me about the playoff picture in the west?

Caldwell County beat Murray 42-13 in their regular season game last year. One month later Murray beat Caldwell County 27-14 in the 3rd round of the playoffs. Go figure! I think Caldwell County will at least win the first match up.

You need to change your name to Justahomer. You lost a scrimmage to 2A Desales. You barely got by a beat up Warren East team last week and you got dominated in every phase of the Male game. Yes, being out gained 325 yds to 77 yds is somebody having their way with you. I hope you like it because Meade will likely lose the first game of the playoffs.
