  1. The immortals of South Warren will be just plain old South Warren Spartans next year fighting it out in a tough 4A district. They lose a lot of seniors this year. Heck, I think Greenwood will beat them next year. Oh how the mighty fall.
  2. I know I may be in the minority, but I think South Warren would give the Red Devils and Purples a very good game this year. I don't think they would win, necessarily, but you never know. Their whole program has been built for this year. Next year they will be average. Ive never seen a program built from the ground up have more success, although at a great cost to other schools. All the talk will be over after this year. Greenwood will beat them next year.
  3. I didn't know Owensboro had so many players still playing both sides of the ball.
  4. Franklin Simpson in 4A. Caldwell County in 3A. Owensboro Catholic in 2A
  5. I'm hoping Greenwood comes out passing and makes a game out of it. It would shock more than a few people.
  6. Anybody think Greenwood might try and mix it up a little or will they live and die by the run?
  7. This will be a game for the first half. Owensboro will break it open in the second half just like the Purples did. I'll say 49-14 Red Devils.
  8. Dane is a kid that excels at everything. He has a good head in his shoulders. He's not done growing. Congrats young man.
  9. Ashland has lost twice. The mighty Johnson Cenrtal got creamed by 3A Belfry. You think they are the favorites? No one in 4A is close to South Warren and I'm not a South Warren fan. John Hardin and their miracle turnarounds is the only obstacle standing in the Spartans way.
  10. I thought they had a good shot at it the last two years. If they choke this year I'd be worried. This is the weakest 4A has ever been. After South Warren, there is a huge drop off between them and the rest of the state.
  11. Purples need a tune up before next weeks game at Owensboro. Christian County has the same problem that McCracken County had. No defense! Purples 42-14.
  12. Bowling Green 8th grader Vito Tisdale was by far the best player on the 8th grade state runner up team. He will make a difference as a frashman. His brother Blue was a workhorse running back on the 2012 & 2013. 5A state champs. Their dad Vito Sr. was a purple back in the day. This kid is something special.
  13. Greenwood will slow the game down and eat up the clock. They will run and then run some more. I think they only have about 300 passing yards the whole season. QB Jackson Adams leads the team in rushing. He's a good one and is only a sophomore. This is Greenwood"s best team in years, but they won't get by the Red Devils, who also has one of their best teams in years.
  14. I'm just glad we don't have to play John Hardin in the playoffs anymore. They are playoff beasts.
  15. Central wins this one. It's the playoffs. Nobody does the playoffs better than Central.
  16. Red Devils and Purples on collision course in two weeks.
  17. Bowling Green scored the first three touchdowns in only nine offensive plays. The rout was on. I believe they could have scored a hundred, if they wanted. They have a tough road in front of them with with probable games against Christian County, Owensboro, Fern Creek, and Pulaski County. I believe this team is ready for the challenge.
  18. Purples are looking to go back to back. I would think they would be the favorite in this game. It will all be played out tonight on the field, as it should be. Go Purples!!!
  19. Great job P88. You cover Western Kentucky Football better than any newspaper or TV station reporter in the state. Except for that one week, when you were obviously delusional, you were spot on!
  20. I'll take John Hardin over anybody in 4 A with the exception of South Warren. The second match up with South Warren will be a much better game than their first meeting. If SW gets beat this year, it will be by JH. No one else in 4A has a chance.
  21. Glasgow's baseball field is the same way. Left and center fielders have to run uphill 15 yards to catch the ball. I remember my dad taking me to Crosley field to watch the Reds play in the early 60's. Wow! I'm old.
