Somehow, I thought you would, Devil. I don't blame you. The Red Devils always seem to be underrated. They should not sleep on Owensboro. Owensboro and Warren Central are the only two teams that have kept Bowling Green on their schedule when they weren't in the same district or Class. They're not afraid of anybody. Good luck this year, Devil.

I agree DF. Big Vito even wrote a rap song about his beloved Purples and Blue was the rapper. I better wake up find out he's going to South Warren. It's bad enough the way they rolled through the county snatching up all the athletes. I draw the line at the city limits.

Most Bowling Green fans are proud not cocky. With or without Vito Tisdale, the Purples will be just fine. It's a team sport! BG is 55-2 in the last four years. The consensus is that the next group of young Purples are bigger, stronger, and faster than their predecessors. Naturally, we are optimistic about the future. You call us cocky and seem upset. I could call you a few choice names but, I won't. We're all fans and have different opinions but, the Purples have managed to back all their talk up by winning championships. Most of the other teams...not so much. You can't say we didn't warn you (many times).

You should go watch South Warren vs John Hardin at WKU. You can check out Western's beautiful campus and watch what should be a great football game. On paper, South Warren should be a heavy favorite in this game. They only lost two starters to graduation from a very good football team. John Hardin is young and lost a lot to graduation last year. They have a history of struggling out of the gate and finishing like a wildfire. I think South Warren takes this game but, I'll take John Hardin in a playoff rematch. You can stick around and watch Bowling Green play Monroe County.The Purples play Central Hardin later in the year so, you can get a look at this year's Purples team. I believe Central Hardin will get the win over Boyle County. They are a very good 6A football team.

Scheduling was a little harder this year with all the class changes. They are not lining up to play the Purples. It's only going to get harder. The young talent coming up the next 4 years is off the charts.

Bowling Green plays at Christian in week one. District foes again. Always like going to the Stadium of Champions. Great venue for football.

Mayfield has always been a 3A school playing in 1A. They are just better than all the teams in 1A & 2A. There are a few teams in 2A that will give them a good game but, they really belong in 3A and they would be a top 5 team every year. I'm not sure they wouldn't dominate 3A. Mayfield is a dynasty and pound for pound the best team in the state almost every year.

Bowling Green vs Highlands in the championship game. That's what everyone wants and that's what everyone will get. You got to admit, that would be a heck of a game and well attended. Sorry Marroons, not enough speed to match these two teams.

I agree about scheduling. The coaches must be friends or something. Maybe nobody wants to play BG and South Warren at WKU. It's a two year commitment. Hard to schedule.

South Warren and John Hardin square off at 5pm in the first game of the 2015 Rafferty's Bowl on Saturday August 22 at WKU. The winner of this one will be the top ranked team in 4A. Bowling Green plays Monroe County in the 2nd game. The first game should be a close one! The 2nd game... not so much.

Bowling Green at St. Xavier on September 4th. The Purples have won 4 years in a row. Will the streak end this year? I will be there to find out!

The sideline of El Donaldson Stadium will not be the same without Mike "Bulldog" Drake. The team has dedicated the season to him. He lived lived and breathed Purples. He will be missed.

All of those scrimmage losses must light a fire under the team. They have faired pretty well despite the scrimmage losses. My Purples have scrimmaged Manuel for the last 6 or 7 years and that seems to be working for us. I don't think it matters who you scrimmage, as long as that team can be competitive.

I think Bowling Green will be better than last season. Having 11 starters back is a rarity at BGHS. They won the state championship with 4 returning starters in 2012. They reload very well. The game at St. X will be a good indicator of how the Purples season will go. I know the Tigers would like to stop the 4 game losing streak to the Purples.

My post was not directed at Purple88. It was more of a reply to the Bowling Green being overrated post. I failed to make that clear. My apologies.

I agree with bear3. When it comes to Bowling Green Qb's. Devon Hayes was the best QB in Purple history. The numbers back him up. I disagree about them being overrated. Jr. Qb Clark Payne and the Purples will be better this year, compared to last year's team. I've watched this kid for 4 years and he's gonna be a good one. Bowling Green has a wealth of young talent coming up that will be hard to beat for several years. The best I've seen in 35 years. If someone wants to beat them, they better hurry. I feel another win streak coming on. Don't bet against the Purples!

You would think a 55-2 record would garner a little more respect in the polls. Don't count those Purples out. I agree with bear. Devon hayes was the best pure passer ever at BGHS. At least the last 35 years that I've watched them. Spillman and Hollis were run first Qb's. Hayes was all pass, all the time and they couldn't stop him.

If Graves County plays anywhere close to the game they played against Bowling Green, Pulaski County will be in trouble. Both teams have very good defenses, but Graves County hits harder than any team I've seen in years and I've seen some good ones. Riley Hall is a very good QB, but I think Graves County has more speed and should be able to contain him. Graves County 14-7 in an old fashioned slobber knocker.

I guess we will have to wait until next year for South Warren to take over for the beleaguered Purples. South Warren Who?
