I love when schools schedule powerhouses out of district games. Good luck Rocks

Those Shamrocks don't shy away from competition. I think Trinity takes this one. Good luck.

I sure hope so.

I saw T scrimmage Hebry Clay and most of the Green/White game last night. My take-aways:

--defense will be very good---seem to be sure tacklers and swarm to the ball---secondary coverage seems to be good, too (not always the case at T)----solid against the run

--offense will be good---I haven't seen a burner yet with the possible exception of Rodjay Burns (no pun intended)---but the RB's (3 or 4 of them) seem to run very hard and go north-south for the most part---don't worry about the QB, both Woosley and Harper are serviceable and can run the offense---I think T has good receivers, been impressed by Dalton Jones (6'2"--185), he can get open and catch the ball---screen game looks to be in mid-season form

-- did not punt in the 3-quarter H.C. scrimmage- a couple of punts last night, so a small sample but looks to be OK not great---kick-offs seem to go about +2 to -2 from the goal line---think the return game will be good (not normally a strong point at T)

If T is to beat Ensworth, I think the defense will have to shoulder most of the load. I do not think T will give the game away but I don't know if they are good enough for Ensworth. I do think this team has a chance to be better than last year's. Coach Beatty is very happy with the attitude of the team, so I assume that senior leadership will not be a problem.

Trinity opens the season at home with Ensworth. Was a very close game last season. Will the outcome be different for the Rocks this season?

Planning on checking this one out. Looking forward to my first visit inside the T. Most of my time up there has usually been spent just down the street on Shelbyville Road. :)

Streak Going Into 2015- one game losing streak

The Tennessean's Preseason Midstate Top Ten has Ensworth at 8.

8. Ensworth — The DII-AA runner-up Tigers, who’ll play a 10-game regular-season schedule for the first time in program history, will be breaking new starters at several positions this fall, including quarterback. Next: at Trinity (Ky.) Friday.

A few more notes:

Darius Morehead, Sr. RB/DB — 2014 Tennessean All-Midstate selection is one of just a handful of returning starters; rushed for 1,534 yards and 22 touchdowns. Coleman Goodwin, Sr. QB/OLB — Completed 12 of 18 passes for 152 yards and two TDs as a backup. Tim Covington, Sr. LB/RB — Ran for 230 yards and two touchdowns in a backup role. Patrick Rowan, Sr. LB/RB — Should see an increased role after registering 22 tackles and a fumble recovery in 2014.

More on Ensworth from the Tennessean:

Quote: “Our line of scrimmage is particularly youthful and we’ve got a little bit of an injury bug, but overall this is a fun team to coach. They’re eager to learn, energetic, positive and upbeat, and they show up excited to play. The competition is stiff … We play the Kentucky state champion (Trinity) and the Alabama state champion (Madison Academy), so that should be interesting.” — Ensworth coach Ricky Bowers.

The Rocks will finally beat Ensworth, mark it down, these Seniors(And Beatty) are tired of losing to those guys, believe me.

Ensworth just beat the crap out of Maryville in a scrimmage.. Each team had the ball for 6 series, where Ensworth scored 3 times and Maryville only picked up 1 1st down. From listening to the Maryville coach, Ensworth is clearly the best team in Tn and he said it's really not that close. He made reference to them strickly lining up and running it up the middle and that Maryville's D couldn't stop it. Praised their RBs and OL and said they're good enough to beat any team in the state by just running the ball, but, once they get into a real game and open up the playbook, they're going to be scary. Also praised how good the Tiger D was from the OL to LBs to secondary.

This will be a tough game for Trinity. I'd say a defensive struggle, most likely. If I were T, I'd load the box and make them throw it to beat you.

Love these big out of State games too! Plan to go. Go Rocks!
