Bowling Green/St. Xavier Predictions
Adopted Purple replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think Bowling Green was just better in 2011. The 2012 Purples were made up of 90% Juniors. That was your best chance to beat this team. This years team is a senior laden team with the best offense in school history and a veteran defense. Good luck and I hope I can get a seat for this game. -
Bowling Green/St. Xavier Predictions

The faithful will be supporting their coach and team. Win or lose. Bowling Green is playing an exciting brand of football right now and will still be undefeated at the end of the season. Come watch them play Friday Night at St. X. -
Bowling Green/St. Xavier Predictions
Adopted Purple replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Football (High School)
I believe the game was cancelled because they sat around all day in a gym in uniform being told the game would start soon. It was miserably hot and they came out on the field several times, only to be sent back in. St. X and Lex. Cath. were spared most of that. Our coach and players had enough. Nobody's fault, just mother nature. -
I guess a lot of people on here have been less than honest about their support for a fellow Kentucky team getting attention and when the owner of the message board starts a thread like this one, their true feelings come out. I was very gullible to think others around the state were glad another state team was making our state look a little better.

Weak Kentucky Football Classes
Adopted Purple replied to Hellbird's topic in KY Football (High School)
Maybe the reason Bowling Green is better now than in 2007 is because they worked hard to improve their program. To say that they're winning championships now because they don't have to play Highlands, Covington Catholic, and Lexington Catholic is silly. You guys need to take off your blinders. -
Trinity won the state title in 2010 and returned a national championship team in 2011. Trinity beat Bowling Green by 3 points in 2010. Bowling Green returned 18 starters in 2011 and steamrolled everyone they played and set a state record for margin of victory in the championship game. Why would it be so unbelievable to think that Bowling Green might have been one of the top 100 teams in the country in 2011. Bowling Green graduated those 18 starters and a strong Junior class won the championship in 2012. They returned 16 starters from that team this year and could run the table again. It is not out of the realm to think that they may be in the top 100 again this year. You say, why is Bowling Green ranked? I say, why not!

When you start a thread and say you believe 25 teams in Ohio could beat Bowling Green, then there is nothing anyone can say that will change your mind. I don't know if the rankings are correct, but it's pretty obvious that most people in our own state don't believe them. If we were to break the consecutive win record for Kentucky, it would be a fluke, because we didn't play a national schedule. We can't afford to play a national schedule! Let's just say, that we will play anybody we can afford. We will just keep beating whoever is in front of us. I believe the Purples have as much right to be ranked nationally as anybody in our state.

Desales vs John Hardin Predictions

John Hardin will roll. -
The pot came already stirred.

They sure do my friend. People need to remember that these are teenagers. I have been watching my adopted team for over 25 years and only missed 4 games. The thing that makes me the proudest is seeing former Purples doing great things in our community and all over. It may just be a game, but it is a character builder as well. Thank you for your kind words.

You know, for a Highlands fan, you're pretty smart.

Posted by Guru I am glad you posted it but this stuff is flat out nuts. MaxPreps, USA Today, or whoever has no Earthly idea where teams rank on a national scale. I agree. I'm not sure myself. The coaches poll is bad enough, but the computer rankings are a joke. Most people on here feel the same way, unless their team is the one that is highly ranked.
-
Purples moved up 32 spots to claim the #24 ranking in Maxpreps new rankings. Trinity is 58th and Highlands is 80th. I'm just the messenger, so go easy on me. I was hesitant to post this because everyone doesn't agree with these rankings, but I do and my Purples deserve the props. It is great to have 3 teams in the top 100.

St. Xavier/Lexington Catholic predictions
Adopted Purple replied to AvidTiger's topic in KY Football (High School)
St. X. Will roll in this one. Their linemen are much bigger than Catholic's. Bowling Green put up 263 yards rushing and we are not considered a rushing team. Their line is small and St. X's line is huge. That should be the difference. -

Highlands has 22 state titles. Bowling Green has 3. It's not like they are going to catch up anytime soon. it's just like preseason polls, it's too early to know who is the best team in the state. If the Purples win all of their cupcake games this season, I will go with them. -

I didn't get a false sense about anything. I thought Highlands did a great job against University Christian. No one is downing Highlands. We are just like you. We think we have a very good team, as you do. It's only natural that our fans think we are the best, just as your fans think Highlands is. The only thing said in this thread about Highlands was said out of respect for their program. Every team in the state, except for maybe Trinity, envies Highlands. -

I thought your QB did a good job tonight. The line play was what really hurt LC on both sides of the ball. Bowling Green was able to run the ball which opened up passing lanes. The Logan kid had a long kickoff return for a touchdown for Lex. Cath. There were a few bright spots. -

My daddy was born in Harlan County. I will always be a big fan and hope to see them in Bowling Green in December. -

Hayes would be perfect for WKU. He will probably get so many academic scholarships that it won't cost Western much. The kid is really smart. Every Ivy League School wants him, but not much attention from other D-1 schools. The way he scrambled around tonight was much better than last year. One of the best Quarterbacks in the state.
