Bluegrasspreps' Class 6A Pre-Season Rankings - Discussion
Adopted Purple replied to Ram's topic in KY Football (High School)
The good thing about Trinity is that you know pretty quick how good they will be. With their schedule, you can't fake it. Have heard good things about this years team. I love it when Trinity is rolling. It brings out all of those crazy Shamrock fans. I miss that. -
5A #5 Owensboro vs. 4A Warren Central Predictions
Adopted Purple replied to JDEaston's topic in KY Football (High School)
I'm afraid this will be one of many blowouts for the Dragons this year. -
Any reports from Trinity vs McCracken scrimmage?

That might have been in your younger days and you just can't remember. You ARE getting old you know. -
3A #5 Caldwell County at 5A #3 Christian County

Christian County by 14. Caldwell County has a chance, but I don't think their defense can stop Christian County. -
5A #10 Greenwood vs. 4A Warren East
Adopted Purple replied to JDEaston's topic in KY Football (High School)
Greenwood is on the rise. They're no pushover anymore. The problem is that Bowling Green and South Warren will be in the same district with the Gators next year. That's going to be tough district. -
That's odd. Why scrimmage at all?

Nice post, ST5. I like to keep up with my Colonels. I heard they have a lot of kids coming out for football. I graduated in 1975. Not much of a football team back then.

Not whining. Anxiously waiting...

It also doesn't hurt to have South Warren's schedule and it doesn't hurt that 4A is the weakest I've seen since they went to the six class system. I haven't been able to tell how good South Warren really is. They couldn't get it done in 3A, despite having 4A numbers. They won it last year with 5A numbers and a weak schedule and a weak class. To me it's not clear how good they really are. We will know for sure next season. I just hope they don't try and move up to 6A in a few years. We desperately need a true rival in our district.

It doesn't make any difference what you or I say. Nobody knows for sure. The one thing I know for sure is that it will get settled on the field next year and years to come. That should settle things.
-
I hope he plays. He is a very good athlete. I have a feeling he will play against the Purples.
-
It's the same almost every year. John Hardin plays a brutal early schedule. They take some lumps early on, but they are ready to play come playoff time. South Warren moves up to 5A next year. When that happens, John Hardin will be in the hunt for a championship every year.

Week zero - where are you heading?
Adopted Purple replied to newarkcatholicfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
No. It's at Bowling Green High School. -
1 hour 33 minutes is about how long it takes to go to Blackmon High School in Murfreesboro Tn. McCallie is in the heart of Chattanooga. Nicest high school I have ever seen. Looks more like a university than a high school. I could see us playing McCallie again.

If I had one, I would gladly loan it to the Dragons. I know this is tough for a super fan like you, DragonFire. I hope they can start moving forward soon.
-
Stuck between a rock and a hard place. If the administration is in charge of the decision, then you might as well lock the doors right now. Every decision they have made has been the wrong decision or at least not favorable to Warren Central. It's a comedy of errors and its not funny!

Longest Winning Streaks Entering 2016 Season

I agree, DF. It would be an amazing game that has been coming for several years. I think the game would be well attended. I know the Purple Nation can't wait. -

I couldn't agree more. I wouldn't read too much into a 7 v 7 contest. Plus, Mayfield is Mayfield!!! -

I thought I was stretching it when I said three touchdowns. That way I don't look so stupid, if I'm wrong. I'm wrong a lot, actually. -

WYMT in Hazard is another great station. When I was a teenager in Whitley County, my friend had a little cabin on a mountain. You needed a four wheel drive vechicle to get there. When it rained we had to walk. Our prize was being able to actually watch the UK Basketball games on a tiny station in Hazard Ky. This was 45 years ago. People that aren't from kentucky just don't understand the passionate fans we have here. -

They will get to prove it right out of the gate. They play at Bowling Green in week one. I think this game will be closer than last years game, but I think the Purples still win by 3 touchdowns. -
McCalley High from Tennessee used it against Bowling Green both times we played them.
