Highlands/St. Xavier (Lou) Predictions
Adopted Purple replied to UK#1fanisback's topic in KY Football (High School)
The way the Tigers blasted Central last night, you have to think Highlands is in trouble. St. X is a very good football team and now they have their starting QB back. St. Xavier 35-7. -
Could Mayfield hang with Trinity or Male?
Adopted Purple replied to a topic in KY Football (High School)
Mayfield fans are proud of their team and rightfully so. Beating just a decent 6A team like McCracken County says a lot about their program and they do it year after year. It would be a stretch to think they could beat Trinity, Male and Bowling Green this year, but I'm sure Mayfield would line up and give it their all. By the way, I'm not fishing for a compliment. It's the truth. -

Mayfield the giant killers! They never cease to amaze me. Pound for pound they are the best team in the state! -

It sounded like the backup QB played well in a tough situation. You have any info on him, Spin? -
Bowling Green/Owensboro Predictions
Adopted Purple replied to LVGambla32's topic in KY Football (High School)
I would love to see the Purples play Trinity every year, but I think the coaches are the reason that we don't. Winning as a fan is great, but it's overrated. When the game is over by halftime, it takes a lot of the game away. Running clocks and blowouts sure are boring to watch. Give me a dog fight anytime! -

Bowling Green/Owensboro Predictions

I would just like to give props to Owensboro for continuing this rivalry. The Red Devils and Warren Central are the ONLY teams that continue to schedule us no matter what class the other has been in. The Purples have had the upper hand lately, but it hasn't always been that way. I hope they can right the ship sooner than later. Purples should roll in this game, but it is a rivalry. -

I'm not so sure about that, devils58. Can you remember the last time the Red Devils had a running clock put on them? -

I saw the Board kid had over 250 yards rushing. The Red Devils lost a lot to graduation. It's not getting easier for them next week, when the Purples come to town. -

The Tigers backup QB was their best player last night. I don't know how much better they can be with their starting QB. -

It was great to see the Purples play a whole game. They needed this test. Any questions about the Purples defense got answered. St. X has a good defensive unit, but their offense is stagnate. You would think a big school like St. X could develope a passing game. I don't think the Tigers can win consistently, until a coaching change is made. -
Greenwood 17 South Warren 16
Adopted Purple replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Football (High School)
That was a great win for a very good Greenwood team. South Warren going for two was a gutsy call, but wrong in hindsight. It has only taken Greenwood 4 or 5 years to beat the Spartans. They have never beaten the Purples in their 25 year history. -

There are conflicting reports as to why they didn't play, but because of redistricting next year, South Warren will be in the same 5A district as Bowling Green and will play at least one game a year. Problem solved!- 11 replies

Trinity at Lafayette 9/2 Predictions

There should be a cut-off date that we aren't allowed to talk about last year. It gets a little confusing. -

The Shamrocks are still playing a national schedule and still winning. Nobody in Kentucky can beat them. -

Danville beat a pretty good 5A team in Southwestern. I think they win 28-21. -
St. Xavier @ Bowling Green 9/2
Adopted Purple replied to Blockbuster's topic in KY Football (High School)
Yes it is, Hellbird. It should be the toughest game of their season. I don't think anyone in 5A can beat them. It is such a weak class this year. -

I agree. That scrimmage means nothing now. Besides, Simon Kenton is a very good football team. No shame losing to them, especially a scrimmage.
