Purples looked good tonight. St. X was a tough test, but Bowling Green really did well I thought. The defense I thought stepped up and did a better job than I thought they would against this St. X team.

 

I did hear before the game that St .X starting runningback was out due to suspension. This was some St. X folks who told me this, so don't know if it was accurate or not and not sure how bad it hurt the Tigers if true.

Suspension or not that was a major league whoopin.

The St. X starting QB was suspended not RB, but not sure how much of a difference it would have made.

 

X's defense played tough, and better than I expected. Good enough to win, but special teams and their offense let them down. X's OC has some soul searching to do. One could defend his offense with 9 guys in the box with 2 high safeties.

 

This is another great win for Coach Wallace and his team; BG is one of the top 3 teams in the state hands down.

X needs to pull it together this year.

With Ridder coming back at QB will help, but man, for having experience returning it hasn't looked like it the past two weeks.

 

Before X's last drive, I think they threw ball further than 10 yards maybe 3 times. One of those was the first play of thee game, which was intercepted. This offense makes Glaser look like Hal Mumme.

I know, I sound crazy but watching this X offense is hard. They don't put a lot of stress on a defense. There were times where they opened solid running lanes, but not consistently against a good defense.

 

They just refuse to take a shot or run routes that make a defensive backfield worry.

Guru. Im sure youve seen how high I am on this kid. Freshman, Vito Tisdale. If he plays for anyone else in the state, he is starting tailback (or atleast part time tailback). With BG having Caruthers eyeballing the school scoring record, Caruthers gets the nod (and should). Tisdale had over 2,000 yards rushing as an 8th grader last year. Crazy good.

 

Coaches believe he will be D1 high level recruit as a safety or DB. He is most aggresive kid I have seen in a while. Every play he just wants to hit somebody. Im assuming it will be hard not to have ball in his hands next year. Go see this kid play. Special.

St. X's largest loss to a Kentucky team other than Trinity in a decade.

The Tigers have three consecutive weeks of competition vs smaller class schools. Could they end that stretch with a losing record?

It was great to see the Purples play a whole game. They needed this test. Any questions about the Purples defense got answered. St. X has a good defensive unit, but their offense is stagnate. You would think a big school like St. X could develope a passing game. I don't think the Tigers can win consistently, until a coaching change is made.

Wolford's days are numbered.
