It was great to see the Purples play a whole game. They needed this test. Any questions about the Purples defense got answered. St. X has a good defensive unit, but their offense is stagnate. You would think a big school like St. X could develope a passing game. I don't think the Tigers can win consistently, until a coaching change is made.

 

You do understand X was playing with the backup qb. He's probably the backup for a reason. The #1 receiver is hurt and out. You have no idea what X passing game is going to look like by the end of the season.

With Ridder coming back at QB will help, but man, for having experience returning it hasn't looked like it the past two weeks.

 

Before X's last drive, I think they threw ball further than 10 yards maybe 3 times. One of those was the first play of thee game, which was intercepted. This offense makes Glaser look like Hal Mumme.

My concern is not so much with the players, but the route combinations, and offensive scheme is not there to develop a decent passing game, at a place like X there is absolutely no reason not to have a decent passing game.

I was really impressed by my little brother's performance last night (#7 Tisdale.) He just has a couple of things he could work on (hydration and upper body strength.) Other than those things, I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be on D1 school's radars already as a freshman. He played CB in the FBU all american game last season, and I see that the techniques he learned there has played a huge role into his adjustment to the high school speed.

 

As for the game, both sides of the ball played great, other than a few missed blocks by the offensive line, Clark had time to get the ball to Carothers on swing routes. I do believe that the Desmond Ridder injury played a role in X's play calling. So that limited their playbook, eliminating plays they would normally score on.

X had a running back, Charles Walker, that was poorly used. He was one of better players on the field. Purples fans knew that Walker could have beat us. Needless to say, we were pleasently surprised.

Love seeing B.G. post the win in this one. I figured they were the favorite, so the outcome should not be a shock to anyone.

I predicted at beginning of season that Purples will get 9 running clocks this regular season. I may be off some, but not much. I think they can do it. If they do, there is a chance they get 14 this year. Dont get me wrong, ill just take a win but they really are stacked on offensive side of ball. Should be interesting

I was there also and you are correct. I was so grateful for it too. Walker scared me and the less they used him the better I felt.
