Yes. The KHSAA requires submission of stats after each game. If a school does not do so, the ball is in the court of the KHSAA to do something about it.

Coach Beatty oversaw the best offense Trinity Football has had for the last 30 years. Coach Cobb, in his 14/15 years at Trinity, has overseen the best defense that Trinity Football has had for the last 30 years. Either way you look at it, excellent news for the Rocks.

Why Hunter might want the St. X job? To move away from a cream puff 3A and see if he can lead a team to championship level success vs the 6A “big boys”. Why Hunter might not want the St. X job? He would be leaving 3A where his CAL team is dominating the Class with no let up in sight to go to 6A where a few “big boys” reside (Manual, Male, FD to name a few) and where his primary 6A rival would be a school in St. Matthews that has a 28 - 12 record vs his new school over the last 25 years, not to mention a ton of state championship trophies housed on Shelbyville Road.

The Rocks cannot face SW until the Championship game. Because the RPI is frozen from this point on, because Manual/St X will play one another in Round 3 if chalk holds up, eliminating one of them from the playoffs, a Trinity win in Round 3 vs another East Region team would raise the Rocks to overall #3 seed in 6A RPI, sending Trinity to the Manual/X winner in Round 4.

No surprise. Ever since NOHS opened, their football team has not been competitive vs fast and physical opponents. Simply not in their DNA.

I do not. However, in my mind football brings a much different variable….the physicality. MOST (not all) of the #1 playoff seeds are VASTLY bigger, stronger, faster, deeper and more physical than their #4 seed opponents. Yes, I know those same differences are in place in the regular season. But due to the physicality aspect of the sport, and such disparity between the top teams and the bottom teams, I feel placement into the football post season should be earned, not a given.

So you are justifying such a 1st round match up because 20 St. X players will get into a 50 or 60 point blowout win vs a team that might only have 20 players on their roster for the game???

No. Regular season is different. Every MLB team plays 162 regular season games. But not every MLB team makes the post season. That is the point. Every high school football team in the KHSAA should play 10 regular season games. But not every high school football team in the KHSAA should make the post season. That is the point.

Not correct. The KHSAA ONLY is involved in ticket sales and expenses for the six championship games (Round 5). For Rounds 1-4, the two schools playing each playoff game share in the ticket sales and expenses in whatever format those two schools agree. So, don’t consider $$$ for a reason that the KHSAA would not want to change the current playoff system.

Across Kentucky today, after school football practices will be held in cold rain with a wind chill of about 40 degrees. That is not unusual for late October/early November football weather in the Bluegrass. I think anyone who has been around high school football for any length of time will agree that 90% of the 0-10, 1-9, 2-8 teams that are a #4 seed getting ready to play a #1 seed on Friday night would rather be anywhere but on a football field today or Friday night. Coaches included. They ALL know they are suffering a miserable season only to also know they are on the eve of a miserable 35+ point running clock blow out loss on Friday. So, instead of having a post season system that forces those teams to either get “clocked” or forfeit the game instead. (even though 10% of the #4 seed teams do indeed want to play, and every blue moon one of the #4 teams pulls off the upset) the KHSAA needs to assert leadership and vastly change the postseason formats. We should have a playoff system based on common sense that suits 90% of the member schools.

The PRP schedule was set with the previous coach and previous roster in mind. Once the previous coach was dismissed, the roster disintegrated due to many, many football transfers out of PRP to other schools. However, all of their varsity games were already under contract at that point.

In Round 3 East region plays East region and West region plays West region. For the 4 remaining teams in each region #1 RPI hosts #4 and #2 hosts #3.

Male REALLY needs to play well and be competitive in this game in order to build momentum and confidence for the playoffs.
